    “Disgusting”

The most disgusting place I have stayed in 8 months traveling (SE Asia, NZ, Aus). You make some allowances when staying in a hostel, but didn't realise we would be staying in a squat. Have no idea what the other reviews talking about a 'Bohemian vibe' are talking about, they must be confusing Bohemian with homelessness. They were what looked like squatters camping in the garden outside. Our first experience turning up here was seeing a hobo outside the front door cutting his toenails on the table glaring at us. The furniture is all blown out and looks like it was rescued from a dumpster. We only stayed because we were late arriving and had to get up early. The building was beautiful once but avoid this run down binfire at all costs.

It is a beautiful old mansion in the heart of Nelson. Cheap and more than adequate. Free laundry and breakfast were a bonus

This stay was amazing. So cozy, laid-back, natural and creative. So much inspiring artwork and decorations! If you're in Nelson, I highly recommend staying there. Woofers are always welcome as well.

“Old hostel and not the cleanness I've tried.”

This hostel is pretty old and you have to climb a steep stair in order to get to their reception. Not ideal for those with heavy luggage. I've visited during winter and the heater in the room is not working! I didn't have a comfortable sleep the whole night. Not to mention they also charge extra for credit card payment when paying upon arrival.
