        Very relaxing.”

Large rooms, clean and a good breakfast.

I had a great stay at Takolaburi. I booked it being very excited about a the deal I was getting at $32 a night, then read a bunch of reviews afterwards about fleas, cockroaches and how its so far from everything etc. I almost changed hotels but I am glad we didn't! Takolaburi was very nice, it may not have been the fanciest place ever (seems like the place used to be really nice but is a tad run down) but it was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly though most struggled with English (but hey I live in China and deal with this on a daily basis so nothing new there). The place is a little more remote but there is quite a few restaurants easily within walking distance that are delicious and with small kids there is nothing else we really needed. We had the beach, kiddie pool, Thai massages and good food all already right by us so I say it was a win. And we still took a tuktuk in to the city center a couple nights for some more dinner options. My main complaint is their wifi situation, its free in the lobby but its realy spotty and its 100baht for 30 minutes of wifi in your room, too expensive for wifi. Overall, we enjoyed out stay and we would stay here again!

Nice hotel without nightlife and shopping”

        Quiet place and friendly staff

a bit remote location on pakarang beach in the khao lak area, but nice big and clean rooms. there were one wardrobe but no other storage space for clothes even if there plenty of space in the room for that. nice and friendly staff. we had a wheelchair and there was some obstacles that needed muscle power from more than two hands to overcome, for instance to the reception and the restaurant.

        A Quiet Holiday Stay”

Excellent sports facilities Quiet Delicious food pleasant rooms
A road passes between the beachfront villas and the beach itself, but the traffic on this road is very light.

Takolaburi was perfect for our our family. The staff was attentive. The sporting facilities, tennis courts, bicycles, fitness room, table tennis were well-maintained and readily accessible. The restaurant had a good variety of food and the breakfast was fantastic. We borrowed the bicycles daily and it was such a pleasure to ride the quiet streets. Shopping and city life were not the goal for our vacation. We wanted to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Thailand beaches. This was a great place to do that!

        Relaxing away from the crowds”

Quiet, very few people around, quick access to the beach

We had a lovely time at Takolaburi. I will recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet break from ther crowded Thai beaches. It's perfect for relaxing and long walks on the beach. The hotel is comfortable and if one doesn't want to eat in the hotel restaurant there are lovely local restaurants near with in walking distance.

Very nice villas with lovely service”

Villas were very nicely decorated, food was good and staff very friendly and helpful

Khao Lak was hit very hard by the Tsunami and the impact of this disaster still lingers in the area. This resort is still in the process of renovation however the villas which have been done are very good. We particularly like the fact the villas backed out onto part of the swimming pool. Staff were very nice and the food was good. It was very quiet when we were there and the beach pretty much deserted. There is some swell outside so our group did some surfing which they enjoyed.

        Lovely resort but far off”

Large rooms, lovely gardens, nice pool, many activities offered for families

We stayed for two nights at Takolaburi and we had a nice and relaxing time at the hotel. The rooms are large and have a nice balcony to sit and chill out in the evenings overlooking the large garden and putting green. The restaurant is nice and offers a good selection of food, though a bit pricey, but in line with the general price niveau of the resort. There are many activities offered which prevents one from becoming bored on a longer stay, especially with children. The beach is conveniently located just across the road. One thing which put us off a bit was the water: it felt and tasted like conditioned sea water. When taking a shower it gave a strange sensation as if you're not really able to wash off the soap. The hotel is located approx. 10 kilometers from the next village, so if you don't have your own transportation getting around can be a bit of a hassle.

        Beautiful resort”

Thai style bungalows. Restaurant, reception are all over water along boardwalks

Our stay here was very very nice. Our bungalow was very Thai style with own own private verandah with a swim out access, just leave your verandah and swim up to the bar. It was pretty much deserted while we were there, with only 5 of the bungalows rented, so if you're looking for seclusion, this is the one. The only problem with it being so empty was there were no staff at the swim up bar but was probably not economical for that with only 5 rooms rented. Seemed to be getting a little busier as we were leaving, I think November will be a lot busier. We were told they were hard hit in the tsunami and that is very apparent, lots of beachfront hotels completely deserted. Restaurant at the resort was very expensive, same as Aussie prices but hire a scooter, was 300 baht 24 hours, and head to white sands beach for dinner. The beds were very hard however, when I told them they put a matress softener on it, was much better.

beautiful setting, friendly and helpful staff, spacious rooms
not at the best end of the beach,

beauriful hotel, espcially the brekfast area overlooking the beach, rooms spacious and clean. The hotel is not at the best end of the beach but it's an excellent starting point to walk along the length of the beach, be carefull of the river that comes down further up the beach by the hotel, you have to judge your crossing with the tide or else you may just have to sit in the local bar across the river until the tide goes out. The beach front has only about 5 hotels on it but no local business only across the river, which you can wade at low tide. There are howver around the corner from this hotel several reasonably priced restaurants, although the italian is a little overpriced.

        Suited our every need”

Long pool connecting the villas which we could step right into from our balcony. Comfortable king sized bed. Good airconditioning to keep the mosquitos away. Out of town and quiet, no loud drunks around. Short ride to white sand beach which was one of the nicest I've been to. Motorbike rental was arranged by the resort staff.
The breakfast was nice and had lots of food but they normally got our orders wrong. The staff at the Jedi restaurant got our bill wrong and we only agreed on the 4th bill.

We paid including tax for the deluxe room but they upgraded us to the honeymoon villa which was very spacious, with our own courtyard and lounge room at the front. Each of the villas had a slightly different layout, some with a private pool, some with a lily pond, which gave each one a special feature. Staff were friendly and we had a massage in the spa, the thai massage was 400baht and the aromatherapy massage was on promotion, eeduced from 1200 to 600baht. We loved the location most of all, everything was a short ride away: 10min to white sand beach, 5min to pakarang surf shop at sunset beach, a small and tasty restaurant just round the corner from the resort, and about 20min into town. The bike rent was 250baht for 24 hours and they count the hours at the time you start renting so you don't lose out. Best money we spent, makes so much difference when you're mobile.

        Nice, but way off”

Close to the beach, calm & quite and big rooms.

The hotel is ok, but for me the location is far too off from civilization. At the location there are only a couple of small restaurants, a tailor shop and a minimart. To get to Khao lak "city" it's about 15 km. One way cost 200 bath with open taxi or 300 bath by taxi with AC. You can rent a motor bike from one of the restaurants for 200 bath/day. The beach is a little stony right in front of the hotel, but got pure sand a couple of hundrad meters to the south. Unfortunately the use the area in front of the hotel as bus parking, so forget "view suay" while having breakfast. In the restaurant the played the same instrumental elevator music during my 5 days stay and at too high volume. Also at the pool area they played music at a high volume, but here they played different kind of music. The hotel was almost empty during daytime, while probably 95% (4 full sized buses) of the guests were group travelers that went on 10 hours daily sight seeing trips. One morning I came to the breakfast at the same time as these group travelers. I recommend that you try to avoid that. Enjoy your stay!

Amazing! Best We stayed in the whole trip”

Everything, Rooms, pools and facilities were amazing!

this truly was the most amazing place to stay. everything you need is here for a relaxing healthy holiday. right on the beach. there are so many different facilities for sports, spa and relaxing. perfect place for couples or families. the room was huge and there was amazing attention to details and welcome when you entered. they have amazing buffet breakfast every morning and all the staff are friendly and chatty. it is a little far from the shops and the bars but they rent scooters at a good price to get around. only bad point was we were accused of stealing slippers when we eft but there were none in the room, so check when you get in the room that there are some there so you don't have the same issue.

Great quiet Resort in bush setting (nearly ) ”

Nice setting, quiet, large pool, large room, friendly staff ´without he feeling of big chain hotels

This place is great for people, who like it quite, want to be close to the beach ( beach is just across the road - one car every 5 minutes) and still like the feel of being in Thailand rather than in just another international beach resort. If you are a little bt mobile, there are other restaurants along the beach, take a taxi to White sand Beach, hire a motor bike - etc plenty to do if you like They even have their own ponys if your kids like to go for a ride or do small jumps! This is not the place for people, who freak out, if small things do not work But it is a great for people, who like excellent surroundings ,close to the beach, but spend mor time at the pool than on the beach

        Not very recommendable”

Resort is situated in a lovely garden

We got a fantastic offer for this resort, but we have to say that we were disappointed. Just some of the staff were really friendly, the majority couldn't communicate in English and it was obvious that they didn't have any experience in the tourism industry. It is not the mistake of the staff, but the management should provide them appropriate training. The breakfast was chaotic, we had to help ourselves and get the plates etc. Tables and the floor were not cleaned. Staff couldn't deal with the amount of tourists. In addition we have to mention, that there is a small river on the ground of the hotel that smells awfully. The smell said to be from a shrimp farm located just behind the hotel. Wi-fi connection in the room was fine, but rather expensive. There is a useful library and a small gym as well. You can get all kind of massages and different activities were offered. The beach just in front of the hotel is not very charming, so it is best to walk a bit to find a better place. Somehow it was sad to see that the hotel has potential, but there are many points still to be improved.

Pool right outside villas, good food, very quiet

There is not much around this hotel which for us was a good thing. We enjoyed the surf just outside and the peace and quiet. The staff were very good and the food excellent. This resort does need an injection of funds to give it a polish and finish the renovations. Also the beds were very hard. However we very much enjoyed our stay.

        Big Room and Price

The hotel is one of the few to be located on the Leam Pakarang, other are Apsaras and Palm Gallerie. It has two entrance, one to the beach side and other to the back road. I didn't understand why we cannot check in from the road entrance and have to drive to the front to check in and drive around again after done. The room is well priced on Agoda. The room was large, though it does need a few maintenances.

close to the beach, lots of space in hotel room and lots of trees very nature like

overall it is great but i think the water in the bathroom is quite salty. If you bring a car with you, walking from the car park to your hotel room can be quite long distance

Great welcome and quiet location, some good facilities including the gym, problems were in the form of the internet which you had to pay for, I'm sorry but in a 4 star resort this is unacceptable. Also the massage facility was pretty much always understaffed so I always used the beach front ones near by. The room are vast but unnesecarily so, strange painted floor and poor television. I did enjoy my stay here despite the large amount of mosquitos and lack of 4star ameneties but the staff a friendly and it has potential but sadly it remains as nothing more than that.

The rooms are very large and nicely decorarted with lots of green space and flowers

It is located just 50 meters from the shore on a nice calm beach. It has more activities than any other Intl hotel we have stayed! It has Thia cooking classes, archery, tennis etc etc. The staff were courteous and helpful.
