Staff were friendly, room was clean (go for the prestige, it's impressive). One night we popped the tv on to fall asleep to and it could switch from French to English language dubbing which is so silly but such a cool feature! Was pretty close to the centre - maybe not as close as in the actual centre, But lille is very small so it wasn't a problem at all and is not offputting in the slightest as we found the hotels on the square were 2 star and very run down looking. This hotel was beautiful and I loved they really thought about being eco friendly. I was also amazed at how quiet it was! And the bathtub and rainfall shower was great too. I don't actually have a bad thing to say about this hotel. My only minor minor criticism is that we arrived late on Friday and went out to have a quick look around town, when we got back around 11.30 there was no food available, which seemed quite early to me. Staff were really sweet though and offered a cheese plate. Will be back no doubt.

By far the best thing about this hotel is the location directly opposite the main train station (which itself is a short walk from the Eurostar station). This means it's also right near the main square, and a short walk from the old cobble-stoned part of town. The bike hire station right out the front is particularly convenient for seeing the city. Wifi was free and worked well. One negative, if booking in summer, note that the room doesn't have air-conditioning (there is heating though for other times of the year).

Been using this motel for many years as a stop off from Calais to elsewhere in France and for a one or two night stay it's great value. It's a bit out of the way but if you are not drinking it's only a few minute drive to the many great restaurants in Saint Omer. It is beginning to show it's age in places but nothing that spoiled our stay and for this money you can't get too picky. Breakfast is excellent, only continental but plenty within that description.

We used this hotel for an overnight stay on a shopping trip to Calais. The price did not include breakfast which we arranged on arrival at reception and was plentiful. The hotel is not far from the port and is close to a very good supermarket and wine store. There is a regular bus service into Calais about 5 mins walk from the hotel. It has good overnight secure car parking.

The outsides of the rooms could use a lick of paint and the inside door would not latch, not really an issue as the room was spotlessly clean and warm. There was a small bathtub rather than there just being a shower, which was a great bonus. The hot water when running baths was sporadic, sometimes it would run out but checking again after a few minutes it would be hot again, strange! I did not eat in the restaurant so I can't comment. Overall a basic room with nice solid concrete walls for added privacy. More than value for money. I'll definitely stay again next time I'm in Calais.

The location to Lille Europe train station was good. Check in was a nightmare, we were not told that reception closed at 7pm, we were not send codes to get in the building or the key safe. We were very lucky that other guests helped us as the phone number for assistance hung up on us before we could speak to anyone! The room was basic, we had to clean it before leaving or incur a cleaning charge - also not made clear at the point of booking. There was no washing liquid available to clean dishes or brush to sweep. We ended up eating breakfast at the train station to avoid any mess. With younger children this was far from ideal. If you just need somewhere to sleep it was ok, but too much hassle for a family.

We stayed here for two nights when visiting Lille. It isn't in the centre but Lille is so easy to get around with a good metro system and it's only a 5 minute walk from Marbriere station. The rooms are unique, bed was comfy and style and finishing is nice. We were greeted by a French Lady that was so pleasant. She welcomed us with coffee and stuck around to give us info on the metro, the city, history and everything that came to her mind. Overall, two thumbs up. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone stopping into Lille. Enjoy

I selected this hotel for its close proximity to the Eurostar terminal and what a lucky find it was. Good price on Agoda, 3 friends shared a lovely big room with a big bed and 2 singles. Friends found the beds a bit hard but I liked it by the 2nd night. Lovely clean room, kitchen area, clean bathroom, seperate loo, friendly staff, I really cannot fault this hotel in any way. Food available downstairs to bring up to your room. Free movies. I would not consider any other hotel when I go to Lille next. SHort walk into the main city, excellent value.

Friendly, helpful staff. Easy parking in our van. Quick check in. Room spotlessly clean. 10 min walk into town which was buzzing on a Friday night. Lots of good value restaurants to chose from. Very quiet location, but easy to find and we were quickly in our way after good value breakfast. Would definitely recommend as stopover. Has the advantage of quick access to an historic and interesting town, as well as very reasonably priced hotel. Will be dropping in here on our return.

I thought the hotel to be exceptional value for the price. The hotel is two minutes away from the train station and the Eurostar station. It is within a few minutes walk to the Grand Place. It is just off a main street that is always busy, making it feel very safe; in fact. With it being a few minutes from Grand Place, you have everything around you. The bed was comfy and the room was very clean. People may not like the bathroom as it is really small; the toilet is almost in the shower haha, but it's all good, you'll survive, at least it was clean! In the corridors to the room there were some stains on carpets which I personally don't care about but others may find this to be unclean. I never had breakfast so can't comment. If you want somewhere cheap and safe then stay here. The staff were always incredibly helpful too.

What a pleasant surprise to find a hotel like this in France, at such an excellent place. Unlike many European hotels, this hotel could be called spacious. Sure, it was minimalistic - cardboard coffee cups, milk in a sachet - but it was very clean and more than one English TV channel. Staff at breakfast, the bar and reception were all excellent. Helpful, and all spoke English. Such an important aspect for us Kiwis. Thoroughly recommended.

Although the rooms are generally small and the breakfast/eating area is also small but it's clean, the bed is comfortable and the heating was good. Most of all, the location is very ideal, being next to the train stations, very near a main shopping mall and an easy walking distance to the centre of town. The staff were polite, overall friendly and tried their best to accommodate my requests including a last minute booking for an extra night and late check-out with minimal add-on cost.

My wife and I wanted to travel to Lille and its vicinity for a three day city break. It took us quite a while to select a suitable hotel. Most of the hotels we saw were in the city centre and somehow did not quite look like what we wanted. However, finally we saw the details of this hotel and also found that it had very good ratings at certain other travel sites. The room price was also very good, just about £45 or so per night in our case, and we decided to go ahead. We travelled by car from UK via Dover/Calais. Once in Lille, it was quite easy to get to the hotel from the motorway. The staff received us in a friendly manner. We then had a nice room that overlooked a small park that was in front of the hotel. Interior decor was comfortable, a bit like modern Scandinavian style, with some light green in our room set in a good taste. Room was not very big, but comfortable and very clean, and we heard that the hotel had been built in December 2013, so it was very new at the time we were there. The area was very quiet, no noise at all, the same with the room for us. We thought the bed was very comfortable to sleep in. The hotel had its own car park, it cost 10 Euros per night for us. Otherwise, the hotel was just outside the centre area, and one could walk to the centre through a straightforward route in 15 minutes in moderate pace. We dined at the hotel the first evening, our experience was that the buffet food was rather average to our tastes, but it was of course more than easy to dine elsewhere afterwards. In sum, we thought we could hardly have had a better hotel for our stay in the Lille area.

This is a convenient halt for those going on to nearby Calais with the Channel tunnel and ferries to the UK. My room was slightly small, but modern in design, very clean and comfortable. Ditto the attached bathroom. It is worth booking a seaview room as the rooms facing the back look out on a fire escape and uninteresting vegetation. Service was caring and efficient. Continental breakfast was self-service and offered a fair choice of different types of food. Recommended particularly to travellers in transit.

Very disappointed The reception staff when i rang to say we would be there but a bit later than thought he was very rude and hung the phone up on me 3 times. Also not advised that the restaurant was closed. when we arrived the 2 rooms we had were not the best in 1 room the hairdrier was broken and in my room the kettle lid was broken and the lid fell off and poured hot water all over my fingers. we stay in Campanile hotels every year, but feel not satisfied at all.
