"We booked for 2 nights for nature excursions at Mulu National Park with King Bed and river view. Very nice ambience and setting surrounded by nature. Unlimited transfer between the hotel and Mulu National Park. All the staffs from reception to restaurant, etc are very polite, courteous and helpful. My partner was given a birthday surprise with decorated bed on the birthday and birthday cake while staff singing a birthday song. It was very memorable and enjoyable stay. Wifi only available at hotel lobby and swimming pool were a little small. However, everything else such as excellent service and good ambience close to nature compensate that. It’s good to be out of digital world (without or minimal wifi) to immerse into the nature completely. The facility is considered well-maintained for a 20 plus years old hotel. Breakfast are adequate to start for the daily excursion to the nature. One important highlight is that the hotel management fulfils the social responsibility by creating job opportunity to the local tribes which in return, improve the overall quality of life for the tribal residents. Strongly recommend to this hotel for the comfort, hospitality and memorable experience! "

"My friend and I stayed at the Benarat Lodge during our trip in Mulu. Overall, it was a decent lodging (think of Hostel style). Our guide, Duncan fetched us from the airport to the lodge which was situated quite deep within Mulu and around a 10 mins to 15 mins drive from the Mulu National Park. As the lodge was eco-friendly, the generators only run from 6:00pm to 12 midnight daily. The rest of the time the amenities such as Water Heater, Shower, Lights and Fan were solar-powered. The staff at the lodge were undeniably friendly and very accommodating despite not having any WIFI, unless you purchase the local SIM card. Our booking included meals from a nearby family-run restaurant next to the lodge. My friend and I wanted to purchase a bottle of water at the restaurant but it was closed for the evening and we decided to get the water the next day. However, the lodge's manager personally handed us the water at our rooms just a few minutes after we left the restaurant."

Her food is also some of the best we’ve had in Borneo! There’s soft drinks & beer available for sale at fair prices too. If you’re looking for a friendly home stay with a scenic location & amazing food definitely stay here! "
