The Koh Chang Rosortel was apparently a very large resort that has been taken over by a single owner. It is being managed as a small operation. So there are many amenities, like a 50 meter, 8 lane work-out swimming pool and a very nice relaxing pool, partially shaded. But, there are not large numbers of guests. For that reason, it is quiet and one receives much personal attention. There was a good breakfast offered every morning. This is free for those in higher priced rooms. There is a small sand beach nearby (about 50 meters away), but most of the beach around the resort is rocky. This makes swimming there difficult. A large sand beach is open to the public about 2 KM away in the area of White Sand Beach, which I found to be easy to reach walking or by taxi.

The Koh Chang Resortel was tops!”
Dr. David (the host/manager) and his entire family and staff were wonderful hosts to this beautifully designed and decorated hotel just south of White Sand Beach in Koh Chang. Located in a quiet part of the Koh Chang National Par, with the ocean and sunsets just in front of the hotel, and the mountains and rain forest right behind it, it was all one could ask for in a Thai Tropical resort. The full sized Olympic swimming pool, and other pools and gardens made a beautiful setting. It was wonderfullly quiet and peaceful just out of the high season. I highly reccomend this hotel.

Family treats you like honored guests ”
W e arrived a day early unannounced and they upgraded our stay to a supior room with an olympic pool view. Free breakfast buffet ended up " you name it" cooked to order. If they didn't,t have it they would bring in next day. Mom is a great Thai chef. Dr. David and auntie speak fluent english and are happy to assist you in making your stay on Koh Chang and thailand a trip to remember. Most of the guests were returning and long stay. We enjoyed the quiet location just past the noise of white sand beach but close enough.

The Koh Chang Resortel is a peaceful spot off the tourist track. While the beach is a bit rocky, there is good snorkeling right off the front of the resort. There are also two lovely pools, including an Olympic-sized pool and a smaller pool surrounded by leafy gardens. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent.

Lovely hotel and service with a smile, ”
we had a great time in Resotel Koh Chang, the people that run the place are ever so kind, you can ask them anything and they will try to provide. The gardens are beautiful and we had the beach to ourselves, for the other guests left during the daytime. Just a few steps into the sea and you can swim and snorkel. The view all around is amazing and so are the sunsets! The room was good and clean and the food was delicious. Every other day they brought a surprise to the room, fresh cocnutdrink, or flowers from there own garden. So we enjoyed our stay very much and agreed to go back next time.

The most beautiful family resort...”
This is the best stay I have had in 13 months of travelling around Asia. The resort has an Olympic sized pool, a smaller (but still quite large pool) a lovely quiet aspect with private beach, kayaks for 100 baht per day (usually 100 baht per hour in White Sands) and spacious clean rooms with great satellite TV. The owners go out of their way to make you feel like part of their family...in fact, when I left they both hugged me like I was son! I was deeply touched and will be bringing my wife here in a couple of weeks. I cannot recommend this place more highly!

quiet hotel with big pool but need transport”
It took us a while to find this place when driving, its not really in white sand beach but more on the way to Klong Prao beach. Its a very quiet hotel and when checking in there can sometimes be nobody around. The main restaurant is away near to the beach so you might need to walk down there to find someone. There is a 50m pool which is good and a smaller pool for the kids. There is a beach but no sand however you can swim and there is a nice sunset view. You would need to have a car or motorbike for this hotel I think since its out of the way and sometimes taxis on Koh Chang are infrequent. The hotel room was fine and large but the aircon controller was missing for some reason. There are some other comments on this hotel needing some upgrades, I would agree but its not too bad as it is. A lick of paint here and there would be good. Had no trouble parking in the hotel. I thought the price was a little high however hotels on Koh Chang do tend to be more pricey.

We won't stay anywhere else in White Sands beach. The owners treat you like family and it is super private. Perfect for people who want to be close to White Sands (on 50 baht by Taxi) but don't want all the noise associated with it...we are back there again in two days!

A nice three night stay”
We had a really nice time at Resortel. The hotel is about 30 minute walk from White Beach and a 5 minute drive from Lonely Beach. It is at the seaside however it has access only to the pebble beach, which wasn’t a problem for us as we made a use of the swimming pool which is really big. As we visited the hotel at a really busy period I was worried that the swimming pool would be overcrowded however it wasn’t the case at all. The hotel provides Thai massage in the evenings which was a nice end of a day for us. The owner was really helpful he provided us with a map of Ko Chang on the day of arrival and also arranged for snorkelling. For those of you who prefer swimming in the sea rather than a swimming pool, be aware that both White Beach and Lonely Beach are really shallow in the evening so the best time to swim is in the morning or early afternoon.

Great hotel (kind of)”
Great hotel with an Olympic size pool and a killer sunset view at the private shore. Staff extremely helpful and speaks good English. The hotel itself is a bit far off the main strip of White Sand Beach. It sits up on a little hill and you will have to ride a taxi (pick up truck) to get down to White Sand Beach. The good side about this is the the hotel is quiet. If you are very afraid of little lizards, this may not be the place of you as corridors are full of them running on the ceiling. On lady member of our group was so afraid that she would not walk out of her room with someone accompanying her. It was fine with the rest of our group of 10. Little lizards don't bite.

Nice hotel with very friendly staff”
This is a very nice hotel that unfortunally is located outside of White Sand, but with the help of the very nice manager we rented a motorbike to easily get in to the city. We first booked three nights but chosed to extend our stay with additional two nights. If you are looking for a relaxed and quiet hotel this is the place for you. Be sure to rent a motorbike!

Very quiet and peaceful hotel. Huge Olympic pool!”
After booking the VIP bungalow, after seeing it we immediately asked for another room. Incredibly dated, noisy fridge, smell of mothballs and windows that don't really open. Spoke with the manager and we transferred into the main hotel standard rooms, which were very modern, lovely balcony overlooking the pool. Hotel position is a taxi ride to white sands and a 20 min walk to Klong prow beach and surrounding restaurants. If you're looking for peace and quiet, snorkeling then this is for you. Note there is no postcard worthy sandy beach there.. Klong prow was lovely though. Staff very friendly and knowledgable in the area. Helpful with getting around the island and also dealing with exertions that we booked through another agent that didn't turn up.

Chill place”
Ok, I don't recommend you to stay here alone. for the family, I think it's good place to stay for sure. I arrived there around 9, and I had to wait for check-in about an hour. cause there is no reception or concierge, and they didn't get my phone too. and I called Agoda customer center for it. and still they didn't answer the phone. I almost cancel the booking to change my booking, lucky or not I found some people hanging around hotel, I asked them. They called somewhere and finally manager showed off. He said he was on walk, but for me, not a good experience. Room is big and nice, but not a good condition of shower facilities. Pool is really big and nice, clean. hotel connected to beach directly, but not a sandy beach. people chilled out on the beach side on a sun beds and some people fishing. you could borrow kayak equipment I think. I saw some guests go on a kayak. they also have a dining hall for breakfast. only basic stuffs in there, tea and coffee, juice, cereal, eggs and some sausages and bread. manager are so nice there :) Location, I thought it's near whitesand beach so that I could reach there by walk. but it takes more than 20 min by walk. so you need to take a taxi or scooter to get there. it's kinda middle of White sand beach and krong prau beach ( not sure right name) in front of hotel, one small outside restaurant, I loved that place. owner whose charge of food also sooooo nice, and delicious also cheap! if you are solo traveler, I don't recommend this hotel. but for the family. could be a good place to stay.

Quiet and relaxing hotel ”
The staff was excellent, the hotel was good, however the beach was abandoned and no sand, they only offered sun beds by the swimming pool side. No reception, the staff was wondering around, when we wanted to check out we managed to leave the keys with the cleaner as the reception was not around. The hotel was quiet and relaxing and you could snorkel around the hotel.

Great pool and family feeling”
We enjoyed the family feeling and the possebility to be in the pool area with just a few people. The host drives you to the nerby beaches and give you recomendations. You feel just like home. We left for a trip to the smaller islands and could leave or luggage at the hotel. A good base for discovering the Koh Chang island and surrondings.

Beautiful property but Needs upkeep”
We recently stayed at Koh Chang Resortel. Upon arrival , the facility was beautiful but noticeably is disrepair. The rooms need updating and some photo or art hung on them. There is no internet in the rooms and have to go down to the restaurant to get wireless. They also charge 100 baht a day which I found unreasonable since all the internet cafes are 1 baht one minute. The breakfast is small but good and fresh. We did not get room service the first 2 days and we requested new towels and were told they only had one maid for the complex. This complex is at least 100 rooms. We also had cock roaches every time we came back to room. This resort cold be fantastic if they just put some work into it. the tile work , pools and frontage location is beautiful. I will stop in the next time I am in koh Chang to see if they updated . But for what we paid there are much nicer places and have free wifi and daily room service.

Nice family hotel”
we liked this hotel very much! hotel has comfortable rooms, very large and beautiful swimming pool, frendly and polite staff. the hotel is managed by family. we felt ourselves like the part of their family. it was very nice. the hotel has its own beach, but unfortunately it is stony. we love this quiet and beautiful place and of course visit it again next time.
