"The hotel was quite new and the cleanliness was highly appreciated. It is located at the center of a very nice but crowded beach. It is also very close to the capital of Ko Samet, which is a street of a few 100 m with shops, restaurants and guest houses. I recommend skipping the rooms with sea-view to get away from the noise. During the day, there are a lot of boats that makes more noise than you might imagine and later there the night-life begins. The rooms have a little bit of a "naive and creative" design that may not appeal to everybody and the furniture was sparse. The bed was very comfortable. I recommend renting a moped to go see other beaches. "

"Koh Samed is [still] largely undeveloped. Formerly the Island was the place Thais from Bangkok would spend a short inexpensive weekend. Now, mostly foreigners travel there. The only way to reach the island is by boat (fast-1,500B or slow-100B). The trip is pleasant and many speed boats will land you on the beach near your Hotel. Be prepared to pay a "Rural Road Fee" when arriving ranging from 20-40B for Thais and 100-200B for foreigners. You can still find a quiet stretch of beach or rock cliffs to watch the sun rise or set. The Hotel is situated on a beautiful white (clean) sandy beach. Sun chairs are limited due to gov't regulations to keep the beach uncluttered. Prices for tourists will be high, so be sure to not accept the first price offered. There are several large restaurants along the beach serving a large selection of dishes. Room rates vary, so be sure to check for specials. The only downside is when your room is surrounded by a loud tour group; yelling from room to room and slamming doors until 1:00 am! I recommend the smaller Thai cottages for a little quiet and solitude. Breakfast is about 4-star and offers many dishes to sample. The Hotel's beachside bar is fun and beanbag seating is under a large blue-illuminated tree with live music most evenings. Try the sunset boat tour (400B for 2.5 hours) for a wonderful view of the Island. If you are lucky, you can see the sun set without clouds. Snorkling near the Island is a little disappointing, but we were told there are tours that travel to better locations. We will definitely be back. "

"The location of the resort is definitely one of the best. It's located directly at the beach with just crossing the street and you're at the ocean and even one of the best restaurants is also right in front of the hotel resort. The prices of the restaurant are a bit higher compared to some others, but the service is better, some personnel is also able to speak English well (quite rare) and the dishes are very good and delicious. Especially the location and decoration of the restaurant is beautiful and captivating. The room itself is nicely decorated in a modern style and nice interior, bathroom and shower. There's enough space and one can feel comfortable there easily. The downside is there is no airflow in the room so the water tends to stay there and nothing dries all too well. Additionally the air-con was quite cold had a strong humid smell coming out of it (I couldn't heighten the temp even though the apperature indicated so). In case one wants to buy something at a grocery store one has to walk around 10 minutes to the next city area, there's nothing directly next to it. Also there's construction going on sometimes which was not that noisy but it takes away a bit of the relaxing atmosphere there, but I'm sure it will improve the resort even more in the future when it's all done (which might still go on until 2018 or even longer as far as it looks like...). Overall the hotel resort is very nice, modern and has a nice decoration inside and out. The location is perfect and the restaurant next to it (on the beach) is one of the best, too. The beach is beautiful and one can get there within a matter of 2 minutes if one wants to. Just the room is not too big and has no airflow so it gets humid easily with nothing to dry well anymore and there's still construction going on. The price for the room is a bit too high in my opinion."
