"Everything was perfect. The beach is connected to Four Season 5 star resort. Kids were playing on sand beach in front of my eyes while I’m in my room terrace. The stuff was lovely and supportive. I’ll definitely go there again if I’m in langkawi."

"This accommodation is the best choice if you opt not to have a all-inclusive requirements i.e. airport transfer, packaged meals, room service, swimming pool, etc. Nonetheless, the chalet is equipped with the needed necessities: beds with clean sheets, baby cot, ironing in room, mini-bar/refridgerator, air-conditioning, bath towels, hot shower, basic toileteries, good reception television (using satellite dish), dressing table, wardrobe and wi-fi. Making up the room every morning need to be inquired. It does not have a 24 hours reception, but the property owner shall contact you few hours before you land in Langkawi. The draw to choose this is the best location by the beach. You can hear the sound of the waves even with the door and windows shut. The beachfront here and all along Tanjung Rhu is cleaned up every day by the local authorities. A choice for pure relaxation and a long deserved sleep."

"This motel may not be for everybody, but it was definitely the best one for us. It is far from main tourist resorts, located by the sea, accessed by dirt road. You definitely need your car or bike. Couple of shops and many local restaurants in walking distance (within 15 minutes walk), but having to walk everywhere would be very limiting. Two beaches close and easy to walk to (in front of the motel the shore is rocky), but it might be easier to drive, especially during high tide. I especially recommend the Black Sand Beach! You won't find many restaurants for tourists, usually no english menus and staff doesn't really speak english... On the other hand you get a chance to taste local cuisine for amazing price and with a bit of courage you will soon learn how to order Nasi Ayam or Bihun Goreng :) We loved the local food, there's a small restaurant (or buffet, you name it) at every corner. And every Friday there’s a big local market with so many things to taste! About 10 minutes by car is the Tanjung Rhu beach, where Mangroove tours start (highly recommended!) and the beach itself is gorgeous - in case the beaches by the motel are not good enough. The motel is modest, clean and very nice. Hot and cold drinking water are free from disinfection machine outside. No food provided, but with several grocery stores aroud it’s no big problem. The only downside was no fridge in the room, but when we asked the staff offered us to use their own fridge and kept the door unlocked for us. It is a family-run place and it was low season when we stayed, so the reception was not open 24/7, but when we needed anything we always found someone to ask and the staff was always very helpful and nice, even invited us to their barbecue party by the sea. Long story short: an awesome place to stay if you want to truly experience calm Langkawi, you're not afraid of local cuisine, and you want to avoid crowds. It is exactly what you would expect for the price, actually much more than we expected."

"We loved our stay at Labu Labi. Having read reviews from other customers we knew that we would need a car and arranged it through a Mr Wan prior to arrival. We went from the plane, into the car and on our way within minutes. GPS helps with getting about until you are used to the geography of Langkawi. Free maps at the airport helped us a lot. To be honest though once we, my husband, 2 year old and I arrived and were shown to our beachside room, we didn't feel that inclined to go anywhere else! the room was spotless and linen crisp and clean. Beds comfy, aircon/ and fan a blessing when you needed a cool off. wifi reliable. The room opens onto an area with comfy chairs to take in the view. There is a tap for washing off sand, essential with a toddler! Behind a row of shady trees is a sloping white sand beach. The sand is beautiful, full of shells. The sea is warm and blue to look at. Not so clear, not dirty, but a little silty, don't expect clear water snorkelling. You have to watch little ones as the slope is not that gradual, but we were fine with it and our son learnt about taking care in the water. Lots of birds and trees inland, great trip to the Kilim Mangroves. We also enjoyed Pasir Tengkorak 'skull' beach, sheltered in a cove, amazing trees with non invasive monkeys, and the beach slowly rolls out into the sea, great for kids. Scarborough Fish n Chips is good, the dory is nice. We did need a change and went to pantai cenang for delicious indian food at Mumbai Palace. Glad to have a fridge to store some simple food, we bought our own bread for breakfast. Lisa and her family are non intrusive and kind, and when asked will help. We had two washes done for 5RM. It would have been nice to have the room cleaned while we were there for four days, but if we had felt strongly we could have asked. We would definately return. The sun, sky, sand and stars stay with us, thank you, for keeping nature preserved in the development of this lovely residence."

"We stayed in a room with a partial beach view . It had an obscured oblique view of the beach. At first we were a little disappointed but the place gets to you and in the end it was fine. There are a lot of rocks out front but if you wait till high tide you can s wim out front and if you. walk round the corner either way then there is a sandy beach all the time.. For the price I’d stay again it’s quiet and charming. Room was clean, beds good, aircon good and food options close by."

"It was really nice to stay at Sunset bay cottage. The cottages are located right in front of the beach, perfect for a quiet and relaxing holiday. Description of the rooms here is accurate. There isn't much infrastructure around, however, there is a small shop next to the hotel where a lovely old lady sells water/drinks/some snacks and other stuff. It's easy to find where to eat as well. Our best choice for lunch was Martini Restoran at the beach (about 5-10 mins walk to the right following the waterline). Food was nice, drinks were alright and we could easily have a lunch for 2 people for 25-30 ringgit. Tamarind cafe (in the cottage next door) was nice, but I felt like their food choices were a bit boring (subjective:)). Fish&chips cafe at the beach was overpriced for the area. For breakfast, we used to go to Labu Labi residence and pay 10 ringgit pp for buffet (hot drinks, fruits, toasts and cereal). We also booked a boat to Mangrove forests with them, which was cheap and really good."
