From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the service and facilities were not up to the standards one would expect. Firstly, there was no one to welcome us at the entrance, which is surprising for a 5-star establishment. When we reached the reception, the staff member gave us a room that was different from what we had booked. I had reserved a deluxe room with a bathtub, as shown on their website, but he tried to offer a so-called “renovated room” without a bathtub. When I insisted on getting the room I booked, he mentioned that most of the rooms are undergoing renovation. If that’s the case, why show those rooms as available on the website without clearly indicating that they are under renovation? There should be images differentiating between old and renovated rooms, so guests know what to expect. After some back-and-forth, When I insisted on getting the room I had booked, he finally provided a room with a bathtub, but it was far from the deluxe room shown online. claiming it was an “upgrade.” However, this so-called upgrade was far from acceptable. The room was not clean, with old, broken furniture, dusty cupboards and cups, and a stained mattress. I was shocked that they tried to pass off this subpar room as an upgrade. It felt more like a downgrade, and I made it clear that I just wanted the room I had booked not your fakely upgraded rooms. The hotel shouldn’t try to deceive guests with misleading “upgrades” that are actually of lower quality. This is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one with a 5-star rating. When I approached the reception again to request a different room, I encountered another issue. This time, a young lady was at the desk, and her attitude was incredibly rude. Instead of listening to our complaint or understanding the issue, she kept repeating that the hotel was under renovation and questioned how many times we wanted to change rooms. This level of customer service is shocking. If the rooms are not in the condition shown online, the hotel should clearly communicate this rather than make guests feel like they are asking for too much. I also asked why the website didn’t indicate the ongoing renovations or show images that reflect the current state of the rooms, but she chose not to respond. After almost two hours of frustration, another staff member eventually apologized and provided the room I had originally booked. However, this shouldn’t have been such a difficult process. If the hotel didn’t have the room available, they could have updated the website to reflect this. Instead, it felt like we were being pushed to settle for something subpar, or perhaps the room I booked was reserved for someone else. We were not the only ones facing this issue. Other guests at the reception had similar complaints about being given different rooms that were dirty and nothing like the ones shown on the website. It seems this is a recurring problem, and rather than addressing it, the hotel continues to mislead guests by advertising rooms that are either under renovation or not available. Overall, my stay at Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a so-called 5-star hotel. I strongly advise anyone considering booking here to double-check with the hotel to ensure they will get the room shown on the website. Otherwise, you might end up with something completely different. On a positive note, the location is convenient, and the breakfast was good. The hotel is easily accessible, but the lack of customer support, rude staff, and misleading room availability overshadowed these positives. For a hotel that markets itself as a premium establishment, they need to work on transparency, customer service, and maintaining the quality of their rooms.

Location, facilities, staff, cleanliness are as stated which are exceptional. But as 5 stars hotel the first impression is not what I expected. Grab driver don't want to pick up and drop off at 2nd level which is where the reception located, so no staff welcoming our stay, no bell boy to pick up our bags. One more thing, our dining experience during breakfast is not on par with other 5 stars hotel. Food not as tasty as we experienced elsewhere. Not acceptable for a 5 stars hotel in my opinion.

Excellent location --- KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Ctr) --- just 5-10 mins walking distance to Petronas Twin Towers --- mall inside Food Court (many delicious reasonable food price and quality). Hotel rating by Agoda is 5 star, perhaps 3-4 star rating should be sufficient. Room amenities are pretty good. Bath room and shower is excellent --- we booked adjoining rms (Heritage Studio) --- were given rms on the 5th floor, facing partial Petronas Twrs (view blocked by W- Hotel (5 star)). The room AC worked superb, so was the shower (rain forest shower head --- really relaxing after long day out loafing around). Bkfst is outstanding, many choices, local and western mixed: very tasty food. Front desk crew were impeccable --- they all go out of their way to assist u. Especially the Guest Serv Manager, Sunida --- he recommended us to visit Genting Highlands Casino and Resort (high elevation close to 2,000 m) --- very nice and cool up there. Had to take a cable cart/lift to get up there (20 mins ride to the top). The bar noise from the 13th floor can be heard in our room (it bothered my wife, but not I particularly). Cleaning person (male) didn’t clean the room well --- wife had to inform him to sweep the floor. Still we tip him for the cleaning service. The bar down stairs (1st floor) were relocating/closing, so missed the opportunity to have cocktails and unwind after a lengthy shopping trips (Twin Towers, Pavilion, CHN Town, Little India, etc.). Luckily we had a chance to use the bar one time --- wife had a decent chat with her compadres (countrymen, Filipino Bar Service workers). All in all, Maya was well worth the price: highly recommend others to spend time there. Well worth the time and money!

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The facilities were top-notch, with an impressive pool and ample parking. The staff was friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist. The cleanliness of the property was impeccable, and the room size exceeded my expectations. The amenities provided were excellent, including hot water for a relaxing shower. The location was convenience, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Overall, i highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional value for money and would definitely stay here again!

The top 3 great points of Maya Hotel are: 1. Great location. Walking distant to KLCC, food court (4 Seasons food court). 2. Rooms have been renovated and are cleans and refreshed. 3. The services staff are very attentive. Overall all great experience. The breakfast restaurant food is reasonable - for a buffet of Rm29 (less than USD 5) it has a good spread. Dow a short visit or transit through KL, this is a great choice.
