The room is clean, spacious, with a cool air conditioner. There is a hairdryer and towels provided, the fabric of the towels is very good and absorbs water well. The hairdryer is also powerful. Personally, I really like the amenities and conveniences. The bathroom has a separate dry and wet area, and soap and shampoo are provided. The hotel also has contacts for motorcycle and car rental shops. The recommended rental shop at the hotel is good as well. It was a very enjoyable trip to Rayong.
Areas for Improvement 1. The room has no balcony. 2. Booked the room through Agoda with the correct number of guests, but upon arrival at the hotel, there was an additional charge for food for children of 180 baht. 3. The parking space in front of the building is limited; arriving late means no parking available. 4. The lift is a bit small and quite narrow; even with just 4 people, it feels cramped. 5. The overall price is quite high due to the additional cost for breakfast. Advantages 1. There is a market across from the hotel where it's easy to find food, and there's a 7-Eleven and a Bangchak gas station with a mini Big C. 2. The hotel has been newly renovated and looks better than before. 3. The breakfast food line is relatively satisfactory, and the taste is okay. 4. The staff are friendly and cheerful.
The room was nice and big with a clear view that extended for miles. The pool was great, although it appeared quite dirty with black bits floating in it, but there was no bad smell, so it was probably just a bit of leaf matter. There is a new building being constructed right next to the pool, which had some loud machine noise, but the building, once finished, will be beautiful, with lots of organic angles and flowing architecture. For the price, it was well worth it for a long weekend.
Overall, the members really liked it. From the room, staff, breakfast, fitness, to the pool, everything was great. There was plenty of parking, which was very satisfying.

In addition to the basics, Thai and American breakfast options, there are also Chinese breakfast dishes like rice porridge served with Chinese sausage salad, fried fish, and pickled mustard green salad. Speaking as someone who often stays in hotels, I usually don't want to get up for breakfast, but whenever I book at Golden City, I have to wake up for breakfast every time. However, one area for improvement is that the dining area is currently very cramped and does not correspond to the number of guests staying. There are hardly any seats, and guests have to wait, with tables spilling out into the lobby walkway, making it an uninviting sight. I suggest expanding the dining area into another building by adding another restaurant, which would be great. The location is very good, in the city center, with multiple entrances and surrounded by shops and complete amenities. The Mor Saroj Market is a night market with food offerings. Behind it is a large PTT gas station that has various shops and restaurants, including ramen, desserts, a 7-Eleven, and a Café Amazon (which is really good for coffee lovers). There is even a beauty clinic. As for the rooms, each building may require quite a walk, and the check-in system still seems complicated and not as convenient as it should be. You check in at the lobby of the first building, but then you have to wait to receive the key card for the second building, and if you stay in the third building, you have to walk even further. This can feel cumbersome and uncomfortable for people who want to relax. On the day of check-in, after having breakfast and returning to the building, my key card wouldn't work for the elevator, forcing me to walk back to the lobby to get a new key card (as someone who has stayed here quite often, this has happened before; therefore, I would like to see improvements made). Regarding the rooms, the first building feels a bit rundown (though it's convenient in terms of proximity to the dining room and parking at the front building). However, the view is not nice; you can see heaps of storage equipment and feel the presence of things that are not visible (I feel this every time I stay in the first building, but it doesn't affect me too much; for someone who prefers convenience, I can overlook it. I like the first building because it's close to the main lobby). With just a little more walking, there's a connecting path to the first building, and the rooms are newer and spacious (depending on the type of room chosen), and they come with a microwave, spoon, and bowls for meals you buy to eat in the room. The third building is brand new, but it is located quite far behind. Even though there is a shuttle service, it is quite inconvenient. You check in at the first building, take a shuttle to receive the key card for the second building, and then go to the third building. It feels like navigating through many transfers and waiting for a bus, making it seem like traveling from Min Buri to Sanam Luang; you get on and off, waiting around, before finally reaching the room for some rest. It can be quite disheartening. If I didn't want breakfast, I wouldn't want to stay here because of the inconvenience, even if the room is new (let's not forget that there are many new hotels opening in Rayong, and I want to directly recommend improvements to the service without any intention to discredit). The bathroom with a shower has good control over hot and warm water, which is to my liking, but the transparent bathroom wall allows outside visibility, which is good; however, it also lets those outside see inside, making me hesitant to use the bathroom. The modesty curtain is ineffective, so I request an added level of privacy from outside views in the bathroom. It's not an enjoyable sight for roommates to see someone using the toilet.
