I have stayed in many hotels around Kuala Lumpur at this price range, however Federal Hotel offfers the value for money accomandition. All the staff members are so helpful and friendly as well as very attentive.They offers help without even asking. I feels really good. Hope all the hotel staff like them. The hotel is very clean and well set up with greens not no forget the history of hotel are well placed and in very neat manner. Room are excellent, very clean and all working perfectly. Food are truely excellent and I like the breakfast with wide range to select including organic freshly squized juice. Great Location”
I booked the Merdeka Deluxe Rooms. Quite spacey and clean. Price was a good deal too. The location was very strategic to everywhere... I really mean everywhere... So there's a good side and bad side. Let's start with the good side.. Easy to get foods. If you go along the street, on one end of the street you would find 3 big shopping malls. Including new Pavilion Mall. Exactly behind the hotel, there's Plaza Low Yat, largest IT shopping mall. And bit further behind Plaza Low Yat, you will arrive at Time Square shopping mall. You can use monorail from there if want to travel other places. Just across the hotel, there's a small road, which bring you to Alor Street. The best and well known for street food hawkers. Many variety of foods. Tried this and that, and no complaint at all. All were wonderful. If you like durian, don't forget to try on the other end of the street. Kinda pricey, but really good quality of durian. These restaurants open till very late in the morning. There's even 24hrs Kopitiam. Now the bad side... nothing much actually. But because the hotel really located at the main street of Bukit Bintang, there's lots of clubs. So it could get very noisy till morning too. For people like me, made me hard to sleep. Main street always traffic jammed, even till late. So if you traveling with kids, better try to avoid your kids from hearing or looking at those kind of scenes. But from my experience, it still quite a save area. I would love to go back and stay at Federal Hotel.

Excellent Hotel with friendly staffs”
My stay at the Federal Hotel is mainly for my golf tour and combined with leasure. The hotel is situated at Bukit Bintang Area. It is very convenienced and very safe during my stay. The staff are friendly and keep on with smiling faces. It is only a minute away from the walkway along the Bukit Bintang area. Everything you can have at this place such as foods, clothings, leg massage etc.The night life is very attractive.There are lots more you have have here. I enjoyed my stay at this federal hotel which is convenience to carry my golf set aroud. The stopping area for Taxi is very safe, it has a big space at the main enterance and away from the main street. I love staying here for my next trip. For my age (60), this is then right hotel for me. There is no disturbance during my sleep at night after my golfing day. I really recommend for other to stay at this hotel.

Great Location, Hotel & Friendly (helpful) staff”
this time around i requested for a double bed. the room that was offered to me was assigned to the check-in party before me and was offered to me as same became available. i was pleasantly surprised this time around as the assigned room was a corner room (very spacious compared to my last stay at this hotel) and facing the main road (bukit bintang)! i have stayed at federal several times before (even though the deluxe rooms are amaller compared to others) but still remain as my priority hotel when i visit kuala lumpur.

Comfortable and Convenience location hotel”
Federal Hotel is always my recommended hotel when travel to Kuala Lumpur. The location is centrally and easy to access to famous shopping centre in Jalan Bukit Bintang. Opposite the Federal Hotel is a famous food street "Jln Alor". The hotel staff is friendly and attentive, fast check-in and check out, also with wifi access in the room.

Awesome Experience”
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, of sorts. During our stay, we had nothing to complain. The hotel is great, location is excellent, you could walk virtually anywhere within minutes from this particular hotel. If you crave something to eat, you can go to Jl. Alor, which is basically just across the hotel through an alleyway. If you feel like going to shopping centres, you can walk to Sungei Wang Plaza. If you are an IT guy, the Low Yat Plaza IT is right behind the hotel. You can also walk to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur mall from here. The hotel staffs were also friendly, only some of them didn't seem to recognise me and my wife a few times as we were entering the hotel lol. One of the staffs even tried to stop us from entering the hotel when my wife and I returned to the hotel with a few plastic bags of food from the supermarket in our hands haha XD. But other than that, rest assured, you can have a great stay here at the Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur. :)

Top hotel with friendly helpful staff”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Federal Hotel and would definitely return in the future... The hotel is clean and my Merdeka Deluxe room had magnificent views of the Petronis Towers. The best feature of the hotel is the friendly efficient staff and atmosphere. Ideally located on Jalan Bukit Bintang and an added bonus is that the Plaza Low Yat the IT store in Kuala Lumpur is directly behind the Federal... I would recommend the Hotel let alone having views of the Petronis Towers from your bed...

Great Hotel - Great Service”
while i read other reviews before booking, many of which commented on the decor being tired and dated this didn't put me off and i'm thrilled it didn't! yes the rooms are a little dated, however, upgrades are taking place and not in a disruptive way. from the very second we pulled up to the hotel until we left the service experience was 5 star all the way. every member of staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome! check-in was a delight and simple. as was check out. i was in kuala lumpur for 4 nights to celebrate my birthday and upon return from shopping on my birthday, the hotel had delivered a beautiful birthday cake with compliments of the hotel to the room. i had not mentioned my birthday so was completely surprised. the room was very clean and cleaned daily to a high standard. beds were very comfortable as were the lovely pillows, with sheets changed daily. we made use of the pool which was lovely, private and clean. we dined at "the taj" restaurant within the hotel one evening not only was the food fantastic, the executive chef came to our table to ensure all was well. the location of the hotel was fantastic within easy walking distance of many malls and food outlets of both restaurants and stall variety. i was thoroughly impressed with my stay at the federal and will stay there when next in kl. to put this into perspective, i stay in many hotels (as a flight attendant) and i could best describe this hotel as a grand old lady with good old-fashion service! the staff are a credit!

Superb Location”
Federal Hotel is very well located in the heart of Bukit Bintang street, which is the main road in Kuala Lumpur. Lots of food, shopping centers (such as lot 10, sungei wang, klcc), massage stalls, and of course nightlifes in Bukit Bintang area. The hotel itself features large rooms and very friendly staffs. And on the top floor there is a "Bintang" restaurant where you can sit down and enjoy the 360 degree view of Kuala Lumpur because the restaurant itself rotates.

Federal Hotel is very conveniently located. Walking distance to Pavillion and other shopping malls and also to Jalan Alor one of the busiest food streets in bukit bintang. The rooms are nice and cosy with the basic necessities. Cleanliness was good in general with a few minor complaints. The kettle was very unclean and only the hot water in the shower was working (couldn't mix it with cold water) and the sink would always get clogged up. The staff were friendly in general. We were given an early check in and also some cookies for our anniversary. The towels in the room weren't replaced after they had cleaned the room and when we called and asked for it, they were brought in by someone who wouldn't stop ringing the door bell and banging on the door. But these were very minor things and we would definitely stay in Federal Hotel again due to the convenience of the location.

Great hotel, breakfast and location”
Situated on the vibrant street in Bukit Bintang, we had a fabulous experience staying at Federal. The breakfast was quite fulfilling and there were several good dining options on the street in front of the hotel. The best part about the location was that you'll find the street alive even after midnight. Street bands playing lovely music, all shops, restaurant and at least one money exchange opened. Secondly, hotel was around 10mins walk from Bukit Bintang monorail train station. We really enjoyed Pakistani food at the UK Asia restaurant in front of the hotel and would definitely recommend it to guests staying here. One bad thing that we experienced was that the reception staff was unable to help us book bus tickets to Singapore, I feel they should have provided this service to their guest. Over all we had a great experience and would want to come again!

This is my first time staying in this hotel with my family. I am so surprise with the staff is so friendly and caring. The location is good as is located in the middle of bukit bintang. For those who love to go shopping, is the best choice to stay in this hotel. For the buffet breakfast, the price is worth it as the choice is so many until u dont know what to eat. This is my first time i have the best breakfast in this hotel. The room is nice and cozy as the aircorn is cold enough. I will stay here again for my next trip. The staff at the Federal hotel are friendly, efficient and very helpful. The Hotel is in the best KL central city location with only a 2 min walk across Bukit Bintang to Jln Alor and more night food than you could imagine. The Hotel was always perfectly clean and well maintained. Our room and the linen were spotlessly clean. I have stayed at a number of inner city KL hotels and the Federal in my experience offers the best location and best value for money. I look forward to staying here again.

My stay at the Federal Hotel was a lot more then i imagined i would get for the price. The location is absolutely amazing, you can walk everywhere. The bars and pubs inside the hotel were also good, although more expensive then outside the hotel. The staff were very friendly and checking in and out was very easy and also very fast. When coming to Kuala Lumpur again i will definately stay at the federal again!
