Near to new world. Comfortable room
I arrived after hours and book during opening hours but no one didnt prepared instruction for me and I have to wait outside whats gonna happen vecause no one was answering emergency number. In room was quiet cold, kitchen was smelly and hot tub doesnt seems to me enough clean.
Pros : Bed is comfort, close to the city, convenience store nearby, saw coaches stopped outside the building, I guess it is good for no car traveler Con: no elevator, trouble if you have heavy luggage, the shower is weak, reception staff didn't look friendly overall is valuable for money

“A Pleasant Hostel in Kaikoura”
The Dusty Lodge and Backpackers is a large hostel which provides lots of amenities besides having comfortable, clean bunk beds. Since I was there in early Fall ( mid- March), the pool was empty. They claim to also have a hot tub, but I didn't use it during my 1 night stay. I slept in comfortable be in a 10 bed dorm and had no issues with the spacious bedroom I did have an issue with the rom containing a shower and toilet. The shower drain was clogged so water spilled out of the room into the hallway where the sinks and individual shower and toilet room are located. I told there eptionizy when I checked out about this problem and she told me that the staff will try to correct this problem immediately. I appreciated the fact that this hostel has multiple (3) kitchens which are all well- stocked and empty clean. The hostel nsrems to attracted a large number of guests - several tour bus groups use this. hostel. Overall, I was satisfied with this facility and would recommend it.
