Commercial Center hotels & places to stay

When I was booking for the hotel room, I didn't realise I had booked the Executive Suite. When I got there, I was put on the top floor (23rd) and I was quite amazed at how huge the room is and also the ridiculously affordable price (provided that I had booked through here, of course). The staff were friendly and all smiles and efficient in terms of check-in and check-out. The room was huge and so comfortable. I did request for a smoking room but they didn't have any on the top floor. I had hoped for a Wi-fi connection in the room but they didn't have any so that was a bit of a letdown. The bathroom was huge and well-equipped with amenities. The bed was large and very comfortable. The breakfast menu was a variety of western and local dishes and were delicious. Internet mobile signal was very acceptable on the top floor because some hotels have really bad connection once you're high in the air. The shopping center was located well below the hotel rooms so it was awesome. I would definitely stay there again, provided that it had free fast wifi connection throughout the hotel rooms.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here (I wish we had booked more nights). We arrived mid-afternoon and check in was swift and the check in staff friendly. We had booked the lead in room, which was wonderful (room 1905). We are travelling for a year and this is our 62nd hotel. This was by far the best. Such good value for money that I am trying to organise another stay in Miri in July or August. The swimming pool was great for swimming lengths and also for just having a dip. It's an infinity pool, so you could look at the boats coming and going on the river below (it takes your mind off the heat). I didn't use the gym, but popped my head in. It is a fully functional gym with all the equipment to you would need. We didn't eat at the hotel, so I cannot comment.

i had a really nice stay. so nice that i didn't go out of my hotel room from the time i had checked-in until it was almost midnight. the reception counter was absolutely friendly and helpful. the location is just excellent with numerous and various food and shopping, as well as, relaxation outlets nearby. driving a car certainly gave me an advantage of going around town but shops are also walking distance. unfortunately, the breakfast buffet wasn't up to par but room service was excellent and the food was delicious. various menus but it didn't really taste that good. then again, perhaps i wasn't so hungry that morning and wasn't in the mood to eat anything. overall, i had a really nice stay. the room rates are incredibly cheap providing that it was booked through agoda. the room i stayed in was clean and well-furnished. sadly, there was no hot water in the shower but it was indeed comfortable and a joy. i would definitely recommend it to my friends.

I had a pleasant weekend at Meritz Hotel in Miri. The hotel is situated very near the commercial area of Miri and have one of the largest malls in the city located by the hotel. You walk straight into the mall as it is part of the same building. In the surroundings you find short walking distance to restaurants, pubs and other shops. If you want to explore the Borneo island this may be a good start of the journey.

Have everything nearby, just walking distance. Very recommended to whom travel without transport. You can easily walk to nearby facilities like dobi 24 hours, grocery store and 7E, massage place, mall, malay restaurant. And the hotel itself also have malay restaurant. For long distance you just easily take grab, it's cheap. To miri airport it's take RM15-RM20. The room floor 3, 327 just perfect for solo travelers like me. The shower rain very strong i like it. For those travelling with family i recommend take bigger room. i can stay here for a month, that how i can conclude it. Stop reading, you want cheap and the best? it is ano hotel. Mohd Zaidi Hamzah

I stay two days at Kingwood Boutique Hotel for a marathon event near Miri indoor stadium. The hotel condition is new, modern design small comfy room (as what you see in the pictures). The hotel is located near Commercial district with shopping complex, 24-hr convenient shops, 24-hr laundry, food options within 5 minutes walking distance. Good location for back pack. Reasonable price as I only paid USD70 weekend rate for a single room for 2 days, worth it!

The reception tried to help sort out the problem which Agoda rejected. When we book hotels on a business trip it is paid by our finance dept in Singapore using their credit card. I do my best to make sure it’s ‘Pay Now’ instead of ‘Pay at the hotel’. I don’t know what’s wrong with the Agoda software which mucks this up. This has happen to me and my colleagues and it’s really horrible for us. Please could Agoda have the Pay Now option for all business travelers.

The hotel is perfectly situated to be reached from Miri airport and to make excursions by taxi. Great breakfast buffet with a wide variety of Malaysian and international food - take your time in the morning to try all that. The staff in the whole hotel and especially in the restaurant is really friendly and professional - just as you would expect for a hotel in this category. We enjoyed having our clean and spacy rooms close to the pool which can be used until 11pm - that is plenty of time even if you return late from day trips to Brunei or Niah caves. There is a shuttle service to Miri city center several times per day which is very convenient to go shopping or dining or just sightseeing.

The apartment is new so every facilities are still perfect. hope they can maintain this. the view from ours was fantastic. excellent place to stay, equipped with the basic amenities such as kitchenware, washing machine, ironing facilities & etc. it would be better if they can provide a place to hang dry the laundry though. the location was not bad,it is exactly besides the food bazzar and seafood centre. it is a bit far from the commercial center though, unless you have own transport or else you need a taxi. overall, it was a perfect stay for the whole family. will come back again for sure!

This is my 3rd leisure trip to Miri and the best place of stay! Very friendly staff even the guards and the cleaners, very comfy beds, not to mention their spacious bedrooms. Even though hall, kitchen and dining table has no partition, accomodates 5 of us comfortably. The only cons is when we use the washing machine, 2nd bathroom seems to clog at the shower but somehow that doesnt deter us from keep coming back again (but please look into this issue). Very peaceful surrounding even tho' they placed us on the lowest ground. Sauna that works very well, (regret that we did not find time for steam bath) wifi very good too and very complete kitchen facilities even tho we did not cook, haha.

The hotels is quite new hence it's very clean and comfortable. Cooling airconditiong, hot shower and clean sheets are very much appreciated. However, i opted for non smoking room but still experienced cigarette smoke smell when i entered my room. The management should be more stringent with non smoking rules and impose penalty for those found to be smoking in non smoking rooms. This could be a health hazard for individuals with allergies e.g. asthma or sinusitis. Otherwise the hotel is nearby the city center with many eateries within walking distance. Overall i am happy with my stay.

at first, I'm lost when try go to this place since google maps told me to go to another area. but luckily I can find it then. so don't worry about google maps after this. I already update it for you guys to find this place. I have to say this place2stay is much better than kuching place2stay.. everything is kust fine. below this place2stay got emart for shopping. also have alot of shoplot at the same area. got KFC, chinese food store & many more. event it far from miri city center. but this place near miri airport. I recommend this for everyone who visited miri..

The hotel provides a clean room with a clean bathroom. It is really clean. Great. I had a great 2-night stay as the hotel is situated within a walking distance of 2 shopping malls. The Bintang Megamall is just 5 minutes away on foot, while the Permaisuri Imperial City Mall is just 10 minutes away on foot.The staffs are so generous with smiles and they are helpful too.If someone is planning for a shopping trip,Kingsley Hotel will be the best hotel to stay as the rate is affordable too. It is just next to a 24-hour shop. You can get things like instant coffee or tea quickly. 'Ani Sup Utara' serves a tasty soup and the price is just about RM 10 per set. It's really great just to walk in for lunch when you are checking-in or out. Overall, it's a wonderful stay in a comfortable and safe room. Thank you very much for the services provided. If I ever to travel to Miri again, I will definitely book Kingsley Hotel.

Our stay was quite short just 4 days and 3 nights. The hotel is just about 20 minutes taxi ride from the airport. Check-in process was pretty quick. After my husband presented our Agoda voucher, we were attended to right away. Took us about 15 to complete the check-in formalities. The room size was just enough for us, a Southeast Asian couple. Western guests may find the room small for their standard but in our case, it was ok. The best thing about the hotel is the LOCATION. Ming Café, the famous hang-out of tourists and visitors in Miri is just a leisurely 3 minute walk away. The hotel is also just across the what appears to be the tallest building (also a hotel) in the city which can serve as point of reference in case you want move around on foot. No need to remember street names, just look move towards the direction of the tallest building and you can return to the hotel pretty easily. Lots of restaurants nearby, there's one on the building's ground floor. The famous Shanghai Seafood Restaurant is on the adjacent building. There's a taxi stand right across the street. Taxis in Miri don't move around the city hunting for passengers, so the location of the hotel is again a big plus. There is also a large mall-The Boulevard Mall which is about 10 minutes walk away. Overall, my husband and myself liked our stay in this hotel.

8th June, 2019: On the 4th of Raya celebration, I booked Merdeka Suites Hotel for my family members because the hotel is Apartment type facilities. Rooms: And the unit consist of 3 bedrooms (2 bedrooms with attached bathroom) and spacious living room with kitchens facilities, complete with freezer, cooking tools, electric kettle for making hot water, there were cabinets like store, dry area next to kitchen, balcony. Cleanliness: overall the apartment rooms is clean, including bathroom and all area. The facilities itself also clean and so convenience. Service: Friendly and helpful staff, car parking so convenient and plenty. Deposits RM100 (return upon checkout). Overall, the hotel is very suitable for family, groups & even couple. In term of price, the hotel rates are so reasonable, the cheapest among apartment style hotel around Miri, can say with 5 stars quality. I fully recommended to all especially with families (the 3 bedrooms apartment unit is the best choice).

Booked for twin room for our two nights stay. Additional bed was inquired upon check in, and the staff was friendly and very helpful to let us see the room first before proceed to bed addition. The room was clean and quite spacious with excellent wifi connection. Decided to add in bed, and the hotel gave full set mattress for only rm15 per night (very cheap and super comfy for the price!). Also, good air-conditioning and tv channels. No worries for clean hot/cool water supply as there were water coolers in every levels, as well as the ironing station. The room was also cleaned and made up the next morning. Location was very strategic, malls and restaurants can be find around walking distance. Also a hotspot for Uber and GrabCar pick-up location. The only drawback about the room was the noise which came from water draining in the piping system top floor (due to flushing perhaps). But for budget stay in with good accommodation, Walk Inn definitely is the best.

When we first arrive at the entrance, its is quite confusing to find the reception building, thus you better ask the security at the gate. The hotel is far from city, but if you travel by car it is very much convenient(5 minutes drive) to drive to Boulevard shopping complex. The reception person is friendly and helpful (ask if you need something). The distance from reception to cabin, chalet or long house are very far, I recommend that you travel by car, they have their golf car but I am not sure if it is free to use. The swimming pool is at the reception area and its at the back end, long distance again for you to reach it, make sure you register at the counter to use the swimming pool. The longhouse do not have individual water heater(drinking water), but you can find it near the center of the longhouse and they do not provide flask for you to keep the hot water, thus I recommend that you bring Thermos for your own convenient. The house keeping during our check-in had not clean the rooms thus we ask for new room but all the room near to the parking were not clean, so we have to wait(go somewhere) to finally rest in our room, but its okay for us since we travel by our own car. The hotel is far from busy road thus the only noise you hear are from the cars coming in and out from the area and foot steps.

We love the hotel, love coming to the Hotel again when I travel on business trip or for leisure and it’s my home away from home. The staff is very welcoming and friendly and I wouldn’t book anywhere else. Compared to my other travels and the hotel’s I stay at the Hotel are above the rest!” I have stayed at some of the best hotels around the country and world and the I Hotel is right up there with them.”  Your staff is one of the most professional. Your Front Desk staff I don't remember her name is very courteous who can always make our stay comfort and takes the feedback about the stay at all the times which is most important in the hospitality. We often visit your place. We are happy with kind of service we get all the times. Keep up the good work..!!

It was a nice and clean hotel in a quiet side of the Waterfront Commercial near the Wharf. The hotel staff is very friendly and I was lucky to have one of the staff there accompany me to the local bus going to Niah Caves whose wife happens to work in the bus station. From the hotel to the Miri City Center is just walking distance away. And I even walk from the hotel up to the Petroleoum Museum and the Grand Old Lady, thanks to the directions given to me by one of the sellers of the Miri Handicrafts Center. Overall, I would stay again on Venice Inn when I come back to Miri.
