"Rock star staff. We stayed here three times, taking side trips along the way. They put up with our complicated bookings and were very helpful. We utilized their bag and bike storage, which our great walk treks wouldn't have been possible without. Kitchen was great and WiFi did fairly well. The free bead was also appreciated. "

"This was one of the best hotel we stayed in throughout our 18 days journey in New Zealand. The staff was attentive and friendly. When the receptionist was busy with another visitor, the manager/supervisor from the room came out straight away to service us. This happened twice to us. We were given a room with one queen bed and a single bed. The room was huge and clean with cooking facilities. The bathroom was big too complete with all the toiletries required. Internet was free for 500Mb with good connection and we can ask for more if we run out of the usage. Overall, this hotel was great value for money and I highly recommend this hotel for people visiting Nelson. I would stay here again when I am visiting the area in the future."

"We really liked our night here when in Nelson. One of our fave backpackers in NZ! The staff were friendly and knowledgable. The room was really nice. All the sewn/hanging bug beetle decorations are a great touch. There was even two chocolates in the shapes of bugs on the bed when we arrived! Such a lovely touch!! The wi-fi was fast and reliable. We didnt use the kitchen as we went out for dinner so i cant comment on that. Bathrooms were clean. Good location!! Would stay here again!! "

"Room wasn't really clean. Glasses, plates and spare pillows and blankets needed a good clean. There were old coffee cup stains on bedside table and dining table. Carpet wasn't vacuumed when room was serviced. Wifi was limited to 500mb per day with the option to purchase more which seemed a little cheap. Definitely not the standard I've experienced at other Quest hotels. On a more positive note, staff were very friendly and helpful and location was fantastic. Central to bars and restaurants in Nelson. "

"We had stayed at Queenstown, Dunedin and Christchurch as we were on a drive holiday and Nelson was our next stop. The beds at all the other hotels were very uncomfortable. We had such a good night's rest at the Trailways in Nelson that instead of leaving early in the morning for Hokitika, we slept in and left a lot later as none of us really wanted to get out of bed. After the hot spa bath and comforatble bed, we left Nelson feeling relaxed and refreshed and ready to take on the drive to Greymouth and Hokitika. We would definitely recommend Trailways Hotel to everyone we know travelling to Nelson. Also loved the recycling initiative taken on by the hotel. "
