Nelson hotels & accommodations

chelsea park is well positioned in nelson and is within walking distance of the town centre with easy access to shops and restaurants. the rooms are clean and smart and the owners are extremely helpful. i will certainly stay again when i am next in nelson

This was one of the best hotel we stayed in throughout our 18 days journey in New Zealand. The staff was attentive and friendly. When the receptionist was busy with another visitor, the manager/supervisor from the room came out straight away to service us. This happened twice to us. We were given a room with one queen bed and a single bed. The room was huge and clean w...

Room wasn't really clean. Glasses, plates and spare pillows and blankets needed a good clean. There were old coffee cup stains on bedside table and dining table. Carpet wasn't vacuumed when room was serviced. Wifi was limited to 500mb per day with the option to purchase more which seemed a little cheap. Definitely not the standard I've experienced at other Quest hotels...

We really liked our night here when in Nelson. One of our fave backpackers in NZ! The staff were friendly and knowledgable. The room was really nice. All the sewn/hanging bug beetle decorations are a great touch. There was even two chocolates in the shapes of bugs on the bed when we arrived! Such a lovely touch!! The wi-fi was fast and reliable. We didnt use the kitche...

Excellent, friendly, good value motel. Spacious, good self catering facilities and close to local super market. Close to main highway, good location for exploring Abble Tasman region, handy for beach at Rabbit Island, 10 minute drive into Nelson.

It was really nice to stay at Phill's place. We enjoyed the nice surroundings, walking options and the bike tour to Rabbit Island. Phill is a very nice host who makes his best to accommodate our needs. The breakfast was really good as well as the food in the testaurant The Three Rooms, located at 10 min walking in the center of Richmond. I would definitely recommend t...

We had stayed at Queenstown, Dunedin and Christchurch as we were on a drive holiday and Nelson was our next stop. The beds at all the other hotels were very uncomfortable. We had such a good night's rest at the Trailways in Nelson that instead of leaving early in the morning for Hokitika, we slept in and left a lot later as none of us really wanted to get out of bed. A...

Once again our thanks to Helen, Robin and their trusty team who make things so easy. We stay in Nelson at least once a month and can guarantee that the standard of the rooms and helpfulness of staff is always of a consistently high standard. Thanks so much for looking for and keeping safe out 11yr old son's rugby ball which we left behind. It is the things like that, t...

Was extremely impressed with the facility and its modern and ergonomic chattels. Jenny and Murray were extremely friendly and assisted in all facets of my stay. Highly recommend this property. Price was a little high but NYE certainly put all the Nelson hotel prices through the roof! It will be my accommodation of choice on my next stay! :)

I was very happy with my stay at the Riverlodge Motel. Setup of the rooms made the space feel private and spacious. Location was also great - just a few blocks from the downtown area of Nelson, just a few blocks the other way towards the Queens Gardens and Center of New Zealand, and just a hop across the river to a grocery store, coffee shop, and a couple of restaurant...

We had a great stay at Cambria House. Karel was very helpful and provided advice once we had booked, as well as during our stay. The cooked breakfast was great, and we loved the luxurious room. This was definitely one of the accommodation highlights of our trip to the NZ South Island and we would love to return one day! Thank you very much Karel and David!

We arrived at around 6pm and the receptionist was about to go out, so he gave us a very quick check-in without taking us to the room, nor telling us how to access the internet (though it's fine because the wifi has no password). The place looked messy, and the kitchen (where guests also socialise as there is no living room besides a small TV room) was small. People sta...

It was curiously quiet - like everyone had taken a vow of silence! Maybe because of free wifi and screen-use! But Manager (form Oz) just delightful - very friendly. Very clean and close to what we needed. Kitchen very well equipped and lovely lounge and garden to sit in and relax in the sun listening to the birds.

A brilliant place to stay. Room incredible, everything you need and more!Beautiful toiletries, great Tuatara coffee each day, laundry facilities in room, amazing shower with different options, super comfy huge bed with electric blankets and wow so warm with a really efficient heat pump, sky tv and very close to town. We honestly could not believe the value we got - tha...

Rock star staff. We stayed here three times, taking side trips along the way. They put up with our complicated bookings and were very helpful. We utilized their bag and bike storage, which our great walk treks wouldn't have been possible without. Kitchen was great and WiFi did fairly well. The free bead was also appreciated.

This is a very nice hostel!!! The dorm rooms are spacious and clean. The building is very nice and in a beautiful style. The staff is very helpfull and friendly and the facilities are just amazing! Other then that, the location is fine, the bar downstairs is very cosy and it's not noisy at all. A really good option if you're in sunny Nelson!!!

This was one of my favourite places I’ve stayed in in New Zealand. I stayed for 3 nights in a private room. The decor is classic but clean and functional. The owners were brilliant and went out of their way to answer all of my questions and give advice on local activities and such. Well equipped kitchens, comfy bed. The owner even leant me an old bike to cycle into tow...

We loved our five day stay in Nelson at the “Joya Garden” studio which was a very cozy private and romantic set-up with a wonderful wood burning fire place – a real “jewel”. We knew exactly what we were booking and thought we would be in for noisy night as this is a backpackers for young travellers. However it was a very pleasant nights sleep. You may note that I've only given the place 3 stars for cleanliness. The room was very clean an can not be faulted. The rest of the building was tired and grimy.

All Black weekend in Nelson. Free bus back from the park went right past our door. Very handy location to the airport and golf course which we played at. Great breakfast opportunity down the road at Montieths, KFC and Maccas nearby. Staff looked after our rooms while we were away with a spruce up. Did the trick nicely. Thanks from the team.

We stayed in Nelson 2 days in February to visit Abel Tasman National Park. This lodge is located in a central position, walking distance from the city centre, supermarket, pubs and restaurants. I was perfectly happy staying at the Aloha Lodge near Nelson. The lodge is located near the airport and just a 5 minute drive from the city centre. We were a group of 5 senior citizens visiting Nelson. We loved our stay at Boutique Motel. It more than met our expectations. Gary and his wife provided useful advice about how we could make best use of our time in the Charming town of Nelson. The friendly welcome and the attention to details made our stay most comfortable.

Great location between airport & Nelson town. Nice & quite location. Short dive to the beach & playground. Rooms are spacious, clean & enough storage place. Kitchen facilities are adequate to cater for a family. Plenty of parking great little swimming door. Great & friendly service.

Checking in was a breeze with very friendly and helpful staff. On being shown the room we found it to be very clean and tidy and quite adequate for our overnight stay.
