Nelson hotels & places to stay

We really liked our night here when in Nelson. One of our fave backpackers in NZ! The staff were friendly and knowledgable. The room was really nice. Lovely staff that are baking all the time and you get to eat the goodies. Nice free bread all day, free breakfast, noce size rooms, the house has chracter. Nice atmosphere. Stay here!!!

Not far away from the Intercity bus station - a 5 minutes walk only. Google map does not know where. I was there on a Friday. Next to the hostel is a nightclub. So it was noisy. But with earplugs no problem. The owner was very friendly and he told me about the noise. If you use earplugs a very nice place to stay.

We arrived at around 6pm and the receptionist was about to go out, so he gave us a very quick check-in without taking us to the room, nor telling us how to access the internet (though it's fine because the wifi has no password). We were upgraded as we arrived as I think they thought we were to old to stay with the young folk, amazed by the breakfast and soup for dinner was all in the price. Quality place to stay would recommend it to any body

Rock star staff. We stayed here three times, taking side trips along the way. They put up with our complicated bookings and were very helpful. We utilized their bag and bike storage, which our great walk treks wouldn't have been possible without. Kitchen was great and WiFi did fairly well. The free bead was also appreciated.

This is a very nice hostel!!! The dorm rooms are spacious and clean. The building is very nice and in a beautiful style. The staff is very helpfull and friendly and the facilities are just amazing! Other then that, the location is fine, the bar downstairs is very cosy and it's not noisy at all. A really good option if you're in sunny Nelson!!!

We knew exactly what we were booking and thought we would be in for noisy night as this is a backpackers for young travellers. However it was a very pleasant nights sleep. You may note that I've only given the place 3 stars for cleanliness. The room was very clean an can not be faulted. The rest of the building was tired and grimy.

I'll admit I had not read properly that this is part student accommodation and part motel but my worries about noise were unfounded. The room was quiet and warm. Mid City Motel is in Nelson CBD, everywhere is reachable within walking distance. They did provide free parking which is about 5min walking distance from the motel. Free laundry and free dryer are additional bonus. Staff are friendly and helpful too.

All Black weekend in Nelson. Free bus back from the park went right past our door. Very handy location to the airport and golf course which we played at. Great breakfast opportunity down the road at Montieths, KFC and Maccas nearby. Staff looked after our rooms while we were away with a spruce up. Did the trick nicely. Thanks from the team.

the floor squeaks a lot. service non existent. Only good thing is, it is centrally located and there is a pub downstairs

I was very happy with my stay at the Riverlodge Motel. Setup of the rooms made the space feel private and spacious. I was perfectly happy staying at the Aloha Lodge near Nelson. The lodge is located near the airport and just a 5 minute drive from the city centre. 7 adults plus a baby. we stayed at their holiday home. everything was provided. however, they keep running out of hot water. though the house can accupy 8 pax, it is not enough for all of us to shower at one go. everything else was perfect, nonetheless. thank you!

Excellent, friendly, good value motel. Spacious, good self catering facilities and close to local super market. Close to main highway, good location for exploring Abble Tasman region, handy for beach at Rabbit Island, 10 minute drive into Nelson.
