This was a terrific, relatively new house. Having stayed at other places in town before, this was a much, much better option. Great views, easy to check in/out, and very comfortable. I'd highly recommend this over local hotel/motels, particularly if you're with a larger group. I was solo and still thought it was great though.

Amazing place with nice touches such as the heated floor in the toilet, smart TV system. Great shared laundry facility as well. We loved this place in the cold autumn nights and it was close to everything you need (food, supermarket), which was just down the hill. I highly recommend the place to all travellers. The house is good for 8-10pax. Nice and cozy place where you can enjoy your vacation. Superb facilities. If I have to come back, I will definitely stay in Castle Hall again.

If you are not a big fun of astronomy, no need to stay here for a night. After lunch at Kohan, you may continue your travel to the next place.

Go for one of the late night Mt Cook Observatory tours. We did the 12:30AM - 2:30AM tour and got to see the moon set, among many other amazing astral objects.
This place is beautiful! I would have use "paradise" to describe the stunning scenery of the Lake! I was very lucky to be able to catch the season of Lupin flowers.
Hot pools, skating rink, ice tubing, fishing, star gazing and visit to planetarium are all great activities in a unique and beautiful setting.
the snow tubing and the hot pools are really their main attraction but next time we will visit the observatory.

We went fishing and caught 6 fish from the canals which was great fun. The cafe at the top of MT John was locely with spectactular views of the area and a soak in the hot pools is very relaxing.
