"We stayed in a Deluxe Executive river view room. Was a little bigger than the plain Deluxe river view. Overall a very pleasant stay. Nice modern decor, comfy bed. Great views across the Mekong to Laos. Was low season so not much happening in Chiang Khong, but I would stay again at the Fortune River."

"Very good big guesthouse, ideally located, experienced staff, nice big garden +pool with lots of chlorine.. The more expensive rooms left of reception are specially worth their money (600 -800 bt) . The ones other side (250 - 300 bt) have one disadvantage: walls are thin bamboo, wood floor creaks, bed also. So you have to be a sound sleeper. But there are hardly any outside noises. Everything quiet between 10 pm and 6.30 am, but you know what neighbors are doing. Breakfast (not included) is the usual, You can ask for fruit /muesli, though its not on the menu. We stayed 10 days!. For someone looking for a quiet break, Chiang Khong is a good town, green, good food etc.. Biking fine..."

"We came here the forth or fifth time because of the sun rise river view at the Khong River. The moon bathtub with the river view is fantastic. We like the New Year merit making tradition in Chiang Khong. Gala dinner is homey. My 72 years old mother enjoyed the stay. We went to the local temple nearby at 8 am. We left around 12 noon for Chiang San. We love driving to Chiang Kong. The drive is very scenic. We will come back for the river views. The hotel is a good stop over hotel in a little town with no nothing else disturbing your holidays. It is fairly quiet which is nice. The staffs are friendly. The owner of the hotel came to say Hi to the hotel guests at the gala dinner. Awesome!"

"Nice new facility to stay while in Chiang Khong. Mai and her son are a super host very accommodating to anything we needed. Beautiful views while on the property. Sat eve there was a street market that was delightful. The only downside was the 1 night we stayed it was quite Smokey from burning in Loas. Would not hesitate to book next time in town. "

"I booked this for my Partner and three of her friends who are all competitive runners and had entered the Chiang Khong - Laos Friendship Bridge run. They were well looked after, the owner took them into Chiang Khong to visit the Night Bazaar, took them to the start of the race and picked them up when it was all over, great service. The rooms were nice and clean, the whole place well looked after, nice and quiet too, great place to relax."

"While in Laos, we booked one night at this border hotel in Chiang Khong. We were on our way to Chiang Rai and had heard from a good source that Chiang Khong was a better place to stop than Huay Xai, Laos. To our utter surprise both the hotel and the town impressed us so much that we wished we could stay longer (but had prebooked the next night elsewhere.) This is a friendly, laid back town with good food and good hotels. The Day waterfront had a great view of the Mekong River and the town of Huay Xai on the opposite bank. The owners speak excellent English, are friendly, and offer good tips. I unhesitatingly recommend this hotel."
