CitizenM hotel was a great addition to my first trip to KL. From the check-in process, I was greeted by a staff member named Sunny who was extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable like a friend. Throughout my stay, I was able to get travel information and have conversations with him. Thanks to him, my stay was even more memorable. The lighting, air conditioning, curtains, and blinds in the room were all controlled through an app. However, I found it inconvenient to use the iPad provided in the room, so I installed the CitizenM app on my iPhone and used it to control the devices. It felt like I was controlling IoT devices, which was a great experience. However, those who are not familiar with these devices may find it inconvenient. Booking through the mobile app was a bit inconvenient, but I was able to successfully make a reservation by using the chatbot for consultation. I also wanted to try the breakfast, so I talked to the front desk and paid for it once. It was not bad, and there was also a convenience store right next to the hotel, which was a good choice for traveling around KL. I would like to come back again next time.

I will recommend this hotel to everyone that want to experience KL especially Bukit Bintang area, the staff, the room, the system, and surrounding just perfect, first it self check in but dont worry the staff are there to help you learn the system and they are very friendly, and then you enter the room you can control anything, lamp, tv, ac, and curtain via one ipad (smart room it is) also you can order cleaning for tomorrow from there too, secondly its just 2 minute away (walking) to Alor so you never be starving there, the interaction with all tools are funny too, third the staff are very nice even the manager show me the way to petaling and pavilion, fourth theres 3 convenion store so you can buy what you need while stay in there, fifth when you want to store your luggage for small walk before go back to airport they can facilitate that request so we easily enjoy our last day without hassle there... good job CitizenM... im happy to became the citizen there... will stay there again if go to KL

More Comfortable than Some 5 Star”
Admirable: 1. First look at front desk, lobby and common area look super comfortable, nice and good, well kept clean. 2. Super clean room. 3. Super comfortable bed and room environment. 4. All equipment functioning properly. 5. Good people, in particular this person by the name Ryan. Reprehensible: No complain, nothing I can think of. Comment: This is by far the best hotel that I have stayed in KL and the Klang Valley. Even much better than some international hotels such as Aloft KL Sentral, AC Hotel both under the Marriot brand, and other hotels such as Wyndham Acmar Klang, Amari Kuala Lumpur, Santa Grand Signature Kuala Lumpur, Dorsett Grand Subang, Eastin Hotel, Crystal Crown PJ, Holiday Inn Express Kuala Lumpur, and not to mention other budget hotels. Please maintain the current standard as of 2024 July 2 to 2024 July 3 or better. anything less next time would result in less positive remarks as I plan to stay more for my business trip to KL and the Klang Valley. The lobby gives a cool and comfortable feeling with Auto Check in and auto Check out machines available. Those not tech savvy need not worry as there is always a staff there to assist in checking in as well. Going into the room, that was a big wow. No dust were spotted and the room is sparkling clean. However for room 713, one drawer on the bed has some dirt or crumps but that does not affect my review because those are not what normal guests would open. Then, all the lighting, air condition as well as TV are all controlled by 1 tablet. The toilet itself has changeable light colours and all lights are dimmable. Not only that, there is the different mood settings that allows different music, different constantly changing colours of the toilet lights, as well as open and/or close blinds and curtains. The whole room was well thought and planned for. Not only that there is a separation curtain to partition the toilet and entrance area to the bed and sleeping area. What made the room even better is the very comfortable bed, but this is very subjective, at least for me, the bed was very comfortable. Best still, at night I have different mood music as well as able to look out the window with the bed by the window. After 12 am, the auto entrance is locked but there is an entrance just beside the main entrance that is accessible by room cards. For some who is to check in past midnight, no problem as the staff is there to assist all the time. This add to better security and at the same time does not inconvenience some travellers who arrive after midnight. Breakfast and common area was comfortable, of course cannot expect breakfast to have so much variety for not a so big hotel. Parking is spacious. This hotel is highly recommended. Worth every sen paid.

First time staying here and it was definitely a mixed experience. I managed to communicate with the hotel upon my booking confirmation and it was a pleasant exchange, especially after I informed them we will only be checking-in at 2am. 1)Once we reached, we realised the main entrance door was locked and we couldn't enter. There were 2 staffs talking to each other who saw we were struggling with the door but just continued talking. Another staff eventually came from the side door and we told him we were checking in. Pretty disappointed with that as we weren't informed of the locked door and the staff weren't informed of guests potentially checking in late at night despite acknowledging my email. 2) Once we entered our room, we found stains on the bed and saw that the shower drain was cracked. Called the staff and first thing he said was, "Yall never touch anything right?" We just came in....but nevertheless, he quickly switched our rooms. 3) Our new room seemed bigger. But we also found white paint stains on the bed headboard and even a lot of dust on the TV counter. By that time, we were just so exhausted and just stuck with the room. We also thought that because of the last-minute change, they couldn't prepare the room nicely. However, our room got a "light clean" the next day and I was quite puzzled as to why they didn't even bother to wipe the dust that was pretty obvious on the TV counter. Some plus points: * Room was really big, and bed was super comfy. * There's an ipad to control the lights and even the TV, so we really appreciated the convenience and easy accessibility. * The hotel is conveniently located behind Alor Night Market and within walking distance of Lalaport Mall & Berjaya Times Square. - Just a note that the hotel does not have a proper lobby for pick up & drop off, so you have to wait at the sidewalk near the road. * Loved the quirky and unique prints on the walls and really liked how the first & second floor are work spaces. That would be convenient for those who want to do work. All in all, it was a 50-50 stay for me. Nothing too fancy but with the amenities and aesthetic provided, it's worth the money you are paying for.
