Cha Am Beachfront hotels & places to stay

We had a great stay. Beds in Thailand are very stiff in general, the bed at Novotel was a little more comfortable than other hotels, the room view was to die for! Great high speed internet (ethernet in the rooms), great pools and fitness center, they also have a free class every day (Yoga, thai boxing, ...). The hotel was just across the street from a seven eleven and there were a variety of restaurants, massage places, laundry places right outside the hotel gates. There are also taxi cabs waiting at the gates of the hotel. Prices of cabs in Cha Am are particularly high and it seems like the taxi cabs have some sort of unions (it was impossible to bargain any of the prices down!). Overall, great stay in Cha Am/Hua Hin beachfront

This is my first time to stay in The regent Cha Am, due to my flight delayed until 10.30pm. and I rented the car take me sometime, so by driving myself from Bangkok, so take me around 1am only reached the hotel. And is happen also my wife birthday, and before that I did make call to the hotel asked them to prepare a small cake for surprised my wife, due to our late arrived. they only can put inside the room before we reach, and have the candle too. very thanks to the staff and the duty manager, but sorry that I don't have their name. overall is good, breakfast very good , many variety, room a bit old but clean, will come again next time if I happen to be in Cha Am.

I was really surprised by this wonderful place, the reception staff were very friendly and charming to talk with, even helping a little to practise my Thai. The room was lovely and clean, with a good bed and clean bathroom.There was veranda to sit on in the evening before strolling down to the beach-front restaurant for a meal.The staff in the restaurant were all very nice and make you feel at home.My only disappointment, and for this I can't really blame the Regent Chalet Resort, was that during my stay here the swimming pool was being renovated, but the reception staff said I was allowed to use the pool of sister Regent Hotel next door. I will stay here again if I'm ever back in the Cha am area as the resort was well laid out, the room are good and the staff were great. I bumped into the two receptionists one evening, about a week later after I'd checked out, by the seven eleven in the village and they were both as friendly and charming as ever. Lovely people and lovely place. Just make sure you have transport or are prepared to pay for taxi's if you want to go into Hua Hin or Cha am as the resort is somewhere between both towns.

Food quality is not good at all and super expensive (to compare it’s almost 2 times the price more than so Sofitel Hua Hin where the food is excellent). Choice of Cocktail and alcohol is very poor and many items missing. To get 5 stars hotel managing should improve many things about food and beverage department. I give a good rewards to the staff which is so kind, professional and always polite for me it’s the positive point of this hotel with the location.

Cha am is mainly a Thai resort, quiet, great beach, great seafood everywhere and friendly. Great value hotel if you are here during the week. Super large, bright rooms with balcony overlooking the sea about 100 meters away. Good gym, nice swimming pools but much smaller compared to the well-taken photos. Breakfast is very expensive here - many cheaper options are just outside along the beach. Transport is regular and easy to and from Bangkok and Hua Hin, with three minibus companies and the Government bus stop near what everyone calls the "Intersection" in Cha Am, which is a 5 minute motorbike taxi to the beach, usually down a road with brilliant buffet all you can eat seafood restaurents for around 200 baht!! There is nightlife, but it's nearly all along one soi (Soi 1), but the whole place is what relaxing beach holidays should be about, and this hotel is a great place to base yourself.

the hotel is very beautiful with nice decoration. there is a big swimming pool in the middle of resort. my family deeply enjoy our leisure time by swimming together, especially for my kids. the family room is so grate and convenient. there contain two separate rooms inside with one living room and small dining table. the resort also located nearby the beach and the famous seafood restaurant called 'sung wien seafood' by 5 miniute walk.this hotel is the most favorite hotel of my family in cha-am, thailand.

We stayed here again as we enjoyed our previous stay. We were not disappointed. Now we were with 6 and the hotel took care of giving us rooms on the same level, without any specific request by us. They excused that the by us requested room was not available as it was already occupied, so they really read your requests in advance. Traffic towards Cha Am was good: just two hours from Bangkok to Cha Am. Although we arrived a little earlier no problem with checking in. There was some maintenance going on at the chill pool, but we still could use it. It didn't bother is and it is good to see there is effort done to keep things in shape. With the 50% discount the Spa was now at the same price-level as the spa we usually visit in Bangkok where we live. It was good! There were wedding preparations going on. Interesting to see how much effort is done for a party for just a few hours and they were lucky, because during dinner in Hua Hin it rained cats and dogs and at Cha Am no shower. Let's hope this couple stays as lucky as this time. The hotel also supported us in a late check out in their best way as they were fully booked. Summarise: great service, nice accommodation. Recommend this hotel to friends and family and will go there again for a short break out of busy Bangkok. Trip back on Sunday afternoon took us unfortunately four hours, but this has to be expected coming back to Bangkok at the end of a weekend.

Have stayed at the Cha Am Long Beach nearby(good) and the Methalavay - next Door(Excellent) and we felt the Golden Beach is in the middle - rating it as very good. The beautiful Cha Am Beach is 200 metres away but it is good to hire a motor bike and get round the Cha Am area(you can park the buke underground no bothers)There are several great restaurants and bars on your doorstep. Rooms are very nice & spacious and it s a very relaxing hotel. The Breakfast area is in reception wit a wide choice of Thai/Farang foods - cereals/yoghurts etc. There is a walkway to reach the Beach - containg several nice bars, massage parlours and salons for the ladies. Cha Am is such a chilled out and beautiful place and we recommend you try the place out before it turns out like Pattaya which it probably will in the next 5/10 years. The nightlife is very good - try the Ozone Bar next door - live music and the excellent Baan Thai just at the end of the Hotel walkway.

We chose this hotel as it seemed to offer modern, clean accommodation at a very reasonable rate and was an easy drive from Bangkok for a long weekend. It proved to be exactly this. The rooms are set out in 2 blocks, which although close together as is often the case in Cha am or Hua Hin, were screened from each other with lots of greenery. Our room had a seated balcony which felt as if it was in the treetops! The breakfast was ok, and staff were very helpful. The hotel is directly opposite the beach, which in August is not particularly busy but must be packed at certain times of the year, if you take into account the number of umbrellas along the beachfront. The beach itself is not very wide or as clean as many of the other beaches we have been to in Thailand, but satisfactory for a short stay. Cha am is nowhere near as large or busy as Hua Hin but preferable to us, so we will definitely be taking more short breaks here and would stay at this hotel again.

long time (10 years) staying at least annually in cha-am. first time at the tara mantra resort. booked 2 rooms in b section which were above expectation for the price in chaam. in comparison with similar resorts on cha-am beach the actual rooms were better maintained, bigger, better cable options, free wi-fi that actually works in the room and with beach views. another positive is the resort was disability friendly, which is not too often the case. also undercover secured parking was excellent. as expected the restaurants were good and staff of good quality and close access to the beach. only dissappintment were the size of the pools in comparison with other resorts. as main attraction is swimming and access to beach not a huge problem. an excellent choice for families with younger and older children to stay in cha-am.

It was a lovely resort in a quiet district. It is literally a stone throw away from the beach. The room and bath was kept in good condition and my family enjoyed the stay here the most. We were able to relax by the pool while enjoying beach view and breeze. There were excellent facilities like the gym facilities which included table tennis. They even provided a free shuttle to the main road to board the minivan which brings you to Bangkok. We were impressed by the breakfast and good service. We would come back again! It also boasts a great location (a couple of metres away from the main road into Cha Am beachfront)

great stay at hotel. Located on the beach, in the middle of the Cha Am strip. Staff super friendly, cool childrens pool/play area, has nice rooftop pool and a pool in the middle of hotel with direct access rooms. Sauna and small fitness center brand new, has a lot to offer family with children, or a couple. Really thought out well and great cost. Will absolutely stay again when in Cha Am.

We stayed on Cha Am in 2 hotels including this one. The other one was 2-times more expensive and was 4-stars, but, frankly, I'd stay at I Calm. They really should be a 4 stars hotel (and I don't know why they are not). Very polite and helpful staff, nice clear rooms, good swimming pool, not very high prices. A very lovely place in Cha Am. We would definitely stay there again if I we go to Hua Hin and will decide to stay in Cha Am for several days. Totally worth it's price.

Our 1st time to stay and we loved it very much! All staffs are polite and helpful. Our family room is new and located in a separate building which is 1 mins walk to lobby. The facilities are well maintained, especially the pool and slides. Dont miss the bft which is in high quality and variety of choice. The location is quiet and the beachfront scene is much better than huahin’s.

Long Beach, in my opinion, is the best hotel in the $50 range in Cha Am. The most impressive aspect is what you DON'T see: that on the balcony you do NOT see the (dreadful) condenser for the air conditioning pumping out hot air at you -- a most rare and unusual sight. Ask for a room facing the north. You will get an unobstructed view. (Now, when you deal with the front desk, please be aware that there is a large and constant turn-over of front desk personnel. This is told to me by the bellboy who seems to know what is going on. So, don't expect the front desk to be helpful. But, there is always ONE lady in her early 40s who would be able to help you.)

The hotel is located on the northern part of Cha-Am beach area. A nice new quiet and peaceful place to stay for chilaxing. The price was resonable. Service was excellent. The swimming pool was great. Breakfast was good enough. Just don't expect for complimentary tea & coffee facilities and some small towels in the barthroom. Over all, this hotel is worth the money and I would be back again for the next visit in the future.

I stayed at the Cera for 5 nights before moving to Cha am Beach, but I moved back to the Cera again after two nights as this place was really good. Its was a bit quite here as the hotel is located about 9 or 10 kilometres from the main part of Cha-am, in what little more than a village. That said, this place has a lot going for it, it's right on the beach, there is a good swimming pool, the rooms a clean and spacious and all the staff make you feel welcome and at home. The layout is two main buildings which are the hotel rooms and the reception area. Then a short walk passed the swimming pool is a breakfast/dining area severing a buffet breakfast and fried eggs or omelets. I found the staff here to be really charming, helpful and friendly, being prepared to talk with me when ever there was the time despite a few differences in our language skills, there English always being better than my Thai. I would stay here again if ever I was in Cha am area, for the price the quality of the rooms and the service is fantastic value. I would like to mention though because of the Cera's location you will need to consider transportation like Taxi's to get in to Hua Hin or Cha-am, unless you have your own car. The 'village' has a few massage parlours and some good value restaurants etc. plus the inevitable seven eleven, but it's very sleepy here compared to Hua Hin.

We had a good stay,the pool is very large but has almost no shade. Wi fi was good however if not used for a short time logged you out,the first couple of times are OK and then it starts to be a pain.Moved to another hotel in Cha am and had no such issues.TV in our room worked well but was old style box set .Gym was OK but not air conditioned so working out in 32degrees is not much fun.Overall,we would love to revisit but would only do so if the above items are fixed.

My first time in Cha-Am. I arrive the hotel almost 5 hrs before the check-in time, but I was welcome to move in at once. The room was in 3rd floor, and I found everything I needed and expected. Big, comfortable bed, safe, fridge, waterheater and both free water, tea, and coffe. Plenty hot water on the bathroom. No complains, but... Something a little strange, the sink for handwash was in the room, not in the bathroom. And the balcony was quite small. But the most important thing for me is always how the staff behave. At this place they are so nice. As if they did not know the best they could do for me. Maybe one of the best places I have experience. And that goes to all of them. At the front desk, in the breakfast room, and house keeping. 5 stars. And for that reason this will for sure be my place if and when I`m back in Cha-Am. Thank you.

We had a great time at Raya Resort. It is located at the quiet part of Cha-am. Raya Resort has a great garden and is located at the beach. You get free bicycles to explore this part of Cha-am. At the beach Raya Resort has chairs and umbrellas free to use and it is easy to order drinks and food. Staff is very friendly and they arrange everything for you. Although hiring their driver seems a little bit expensive, it's worthwhile to do this. They bring you everywhere and if you are ready to go back to the resort, they'll pick you up. No hustle with finding a taxi (which can be very hard in the area of the resort).

Falling in love to space of place, simply and cozy:). their location is quite peaceful but facilities surrounding that is not far for walking distance. Inside room is very nice perception and little wow space for shower area, overall to space is comfort and rest for eye touching. Breakfast is hug! yummy all and fullfill body energy. The place is peaceful, private, cozy. ...well, i am falling in love this, they are fair for the value. I will go again:)

The hotel has only 4 rooms, perfect for couple who look for quiet and peaceful stay. Only a few mins walk away from the beach, or better yet, hotel provides bicycles for free. You can also access to the pool 24 hours. If you're lucky and the other 3 rooms have not rented out, you will have the pool all to yourself! The staffs are super friendly there. Note that the hotel is located at Cha-am, not Hua Hin (25 mins drive away from Hua Hin). Honestly after my trip to Hua Hin/Cha-am, I don't know if I wanted to go back that place again (after all these places you would only go once in your life), but this hotel? I will definitely come back again, for the hotel's sake!! P/s: eat all the snacks in minibar cause it's all free! Also remember to keep track of your time/schedule, cause you'll spend all your time in the hotel (and the pool) before you know it!
