Great walk on the deserted beach, good food”
We would really recommend the Bann Pae Cabana for anyone wanting to take a break from Bangkok over a week end. There is a very long stretch of deserted beach where you can go walking, the staff is super friendly, the food is really good with real coffee for breakfast, the pool is lovely, surrounded by shaded areas and sunny areas and long chairs. The only down points are the rather small size of the rooms and the bathroom where the plumbing is a little basic and which becomes breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Nice resort in a secluded area”
We enjoyed our two night stay at the Bann Pae Cabana Hotel, although our bungalow was far too small for all of us (2 adults and 2 small children): could only fit a double bed (on raised floor and an extra mattress - nothing else! The suitcase had to lie on the floor in front of the door to the toilet/shower. Outdoors toilet/shower are great fun with children in the daytime, but at nightime I prefer to have a sink and loo indoors!!! The breakfast was ok and all the staff helpful. The beach is nice and secluded, but there is not much shade in the daytime.

Nice beach and swimming pool”
We arrived, and the manager and staff were friendly and helpful. the room was nice, but needs some maintenance, seems rather old and uncared for, however it was clean and comfortable. The ids enjoyed playing on the beach and we were able to relax on the beach chairs. Also enjoyed the swimming pool. Meal options, aside from the hotel are limited, specially after the weekend, or better said, after lunch on Sunday, as it was offseason. It is best if you know local meals, and are able to speck a little of the local language. We went to the local town and got some local food. hotel food is good, but prices are a little higher. The beach was clean, however the sea had some rubbish in it, not sure where coming from, as the beach was not busy and people did not seems to trow things in it. As the place is located in from of Koh Samet, we believe this might be from the island, or the local village. Otherwise the sea would have been ideal.

the rooms are badly designed..no seating inside, terrace outside the door very comfortable.....pool great.non-stop job to maintain the high standards of the overall resort.......no space for access to smallish suitcase....fair price however.

Nice hotel, nice food, nice people but fell short”
The hotel is somewhat isolated and unless you have transport you are stuck there. Motorcycles can be rented for Baht300/day which was very reasonable. We enjoyed our stay but were dissapointed by the cabana we stayed in. There were dirty towels left from the previous occupants, the daily cleaning service did not remove rubbish, soap papers used shampoo bottles etc. The cabana only had two bed side lights and was permanenty dark, it needed a main light. Other ath that we enjoyed our stay but would nt return, we would try somewhere else

Tropical and cosy Hideaway”
This resort doesn´t claim to be a four of five star one, neither does the cottage rate matches those. Read through their webpage and I can confirm they live up to their promise, pretty fair value. Located at the end of a dead.end-road, it is a hideaway in all respects. If you are looking for a night and bar life, lots of restaurants around - it is not a place you should go for. There is not even a food stall or somtam shop close to the resort, what means something in Thailand. If you need to stay close to business or - for whatever reason - can´t live without stable and fast internet access, it might not be your´s as well ... sometimes WiFi works, sometimes it doesn´t. And if it works - only in the restaurant area and at slow speed, but for free. If you plan to leave the resort once in a while, you should have a car at hand. The cottages are simple, thai-style elevated, with open-air bathroom (hot and cold water), TV (primarily Thai channels), aircon and minibar (stocked with two water bottles). Not large, without wardrobe or cabinets, just a desk for TV and put some things on. Covered terrace with chairs and a table. And lots of green around and above the cottages. Or behind, when you decided to go for a sea view cottage. Breakfast buffet is straight forward, not a wide choice, nor special or impressive. But enough to not stay hungry for your start into the day. The range offered is limited and one might get bored with the choice after a few days, but quality is ok. Staff is shy, what isn´t unusual when going country (sea) side, but very friendly and helpful. Great place to relax for a long weekend. For sightseers, I think one can cover the area in three to four days with the need to drive some distance going to places. Discovered accommodation here has moderate prices, but eating out is more expensive compared to e.g. Cha Am.

There are 2 keys that make for a lower rating. The beach is not able to be used for swimming. There is a great amount of rubbish in the last 10 metres and it is impossible to enter the water through the floating rubbish ....plastic bags, smelly decaying vegetation and animal matter....It was fine to sit on the porch with a few metres of lean sand with some tables and chairs.....nice to look out to the sea beyond the junk, but totally impossible to use the beach for swimming. The pool was disappointing....not as clean as it should be....could see only 2 metres underwater with swim n n goggles. So....what could have been idyllic was limited in it's appeal.....great location on the beach, comfortable cabana, lovely relaxing area close to the door but an unusable beach and a pool that should have been cleaner.

Lovely Hotel.”
As we were driving from Bangkok (After work)to the Hotel which is in Rayong,we arrived late at night at about 2300 Hours.We were disappointed to see that the Front office was closed,luckily the security guard was there in which he really helped us.It was still raining but he went to contact the Resident Manager in which she was reluctant to check us in at first,saying that she did not receive any booking details from Agoda. In the end we managed to check in at about midnight as I showed her the booking details I received from Agoda. What a Expeience...

Beautiful place / but falling apart”
Bann Pae Cabana Hotel is very remote from any facility and has no reliable transport available. The taxi they called stopped half way and doubled the price. The place is neglected and cries for maintenance. But it must have been very charming some years back. The beach is very deep and not fit for children or less experienced swimmers.

fish factory smell”
Room a bit old but still OK but price was too high. Also disturbed by strong fish smell from fish factory all night long. Bed and duvet were too short even for short body like me. Breakfast was poor.Nice swimming pool next to the beach.

Quiet Getaway!”
if you're looking for a close place to get away from bangkok city or you just want to relax on the beach away from the crowds - this is the place for you. being at the end of the road means the beach front is very quiet. lots of sand & for the most part - clear of the washed-up rubbish you see on some of thailand's beaches. the restaurant food was delicious (the alcohol menu had very little choice - so being your own if you like a particular brew). it was easy to hire a motorbike to get around - so that meant we could try other restaurants in the area. ban phe pier was close by.

Thai Style suprise”
it was a vey small room with paper thin walls and a open roof bathroom with a shower that wasnt much more than a dribble. it was a bit of a shock when we first arrived, the photo shop experts had been a work for their Agoda photo's but the location was superb. as we only booked for 2 nights we settled into believing we were having a fancy camping holiday.

A great get away.”
This place was more then I was expecting. The place was more then I expected by way of really leaving the traffic and noise behind. A bit secluded, was right up my alley. Any one that has been camping will understand when I say a small but roomy enough cabin with a deck built for two. Over looking the ocean and the pool was probably the best part of the stay. Quite, peaceful and more then relaxing place to unwind from the busy city of Bkk. and Pattaya. A place that I would and will be going back to. Staff bent over backwards to tend to our every need.

Private beach & great location but a bit run down”
Great location, peace & quiet! Private beach but the sand is a bit rough! Back to nature style villa but it is a bit run down! Food is good but slow! The staffs are friendly & nice unlike the reviews I saw before the trip!
