Well worth a visit!”

We traveled as a family with two teenage children and spent two nights at Awa (We would have stayed longer if we had found it sooner!). The Hotel is situated in Kai Bae on the popular West Coast of Koh Chang and is split into two sections, on either side of the main road. The main resort is on the "beach" side with the Superior Hillside rooms across the road. We stayed in two Hillside rooms on the "wrong" side of the road and were happy with the rooms that had ample space, comfortable beds and large modern bathrooms, as well as all the other comforts that would be expected in a 4 star hotel. Being on the other side of the road did not bother us, particularly at the price we paid (1444 baht p/r/night) and there was a golf cart to take us to our room when we didn't feel like walking. The breakfast was good with a nice variety, catering to both Western and Asian tastes, we particularly enjoyed the bacon, that was always in plentiful supply. The resort beach is beautiful with white sand and no sand flies, which can be a problem on some of the other beaches. Swim in the sea at your own peril as there are a lot of sharp stones/coral and shoes should be worn to prevent injury. However, the pool is awesome and compensates nicely. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, although we would like to make mention of Mr. Bross at reception, who was particularly helpful and Mr. Abel Rodriguez who was a very attentive manager at the restaurant, he is most certainly a great asset to the resort. All in all, a top notch resort and well worth a visit! We also enjoyed the Kai Bae Beach area more than the popular White Sands Beach and walking through the village after sunset, sampling the local fruit, beer and massages was one of our highlights.

Best food on Koh Chang!”

We stayed at AWA Resort for 11 days and enjoy our days/nights in this stunning location. It is the ultimate place for couples in which wants to relax in luxurious, affordable settings. Kai Bae Beach is located in the middle of the habited-part of the island and renting a scooter costs around 11 EUR per day - meaning that you can rent a scooter several days without worrying about spending too much. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. The restaurant has better food than the other 10 restaurants we tried whilst visiting the place and the staff members know more about service than in most of the other restaurants. The breakfast is portrayed with a large variety incl. coffee and tea - again in beautiful outdoor settings. The beach is not impressive, yet we found it exciting to travel around and find hidden pearls and then return to a comfortable, clean and beautiful venue. The resort has only been open a few months and is in need of some improvements - in which the management is aware of and tackling in a very good manner. The improvements did not affect our stay in a negative way and we would recommend this resort to anyone. Reg. the island Koh Chang: please visit Bang Bao Fisherman Village; Klong Village Beach; Lonely Beach; and take a boat trip to Koh Wai - the most stunning snorkling scene in that area. The parrot fishes were swimming next to me for several minutes and the scenery is amazing. The food is also good on the island. A Tip: if you are a couple, stay in one of the bungalows for one night. Its very primitive and you would see/experience some bugs, but bring mosquito deet and net and enjoy a magnificent sunset and sunrise you will late forget! For cooking courses, we had a great experience at Bamboo Hut Cooking school and paid only 1000 baht. Thank you, AWA, for a memorable stay!

Excellent hotel with proffessional staff and management”

It has been our third time at the AWA Resort at Kaibea Beach, Koh Chang and we can more than recommend the place for your holiday. First of all we want to highlight the staff at the AWA Resort. Under the Management of Khun Golf (Supichaya Chumrudee) who is the most kind-hearted, friendly and lovely person we have ever had the pleasure to meet - you will soon realise that the whole staff is exceptional and already a reason to stay at the AWA Resort. They are always there to help you and make your holiday special. Furthermore the AWA Resort is perfectly located. It is surrounded by a great number of restaurants, cafes and tourist information and has access to the sea. Also it is a beautiful Hotel with everything you could wish for. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Also they are decorated in a lovely way. If you want to, you could book a room at the beach front, so you can enjoy a beautiful sunset every evening from your own balcony. to be continued.....

Amazing hotel for an an amazing price”

I had an amazing stay at the Awa Resort. I was at Koh Chang by myself to get my padi (diving exam). Because I was travelling by myself I just wanted to stay in a good, safe hotel. Eventually I choose Awa. I ended up doing my padi at Dolphin Dive school (also a recommendation), so I ended up going there during day time and to get together before going diving. I prefer Awa. So much more beautiful and less massive. And its also more affordable. I had one of the rooms at the other side of the street, not part of the main building. In the beginning I wasn't amused getting a room there. But after realising it totally doesn't matter that you are on the other side and its safe, I didn't mind at all. And the architecture and staff are amazing. Breakfast has a wide selection of everything and also the restaurant serves great food. I honestly would recommend everyone to stay at the Awa Resort while in Koh Chang!

Excellent stay on Koh Chang”

Wonderful hotel in a great location. At the end of Kai Bae beach, with lots of eating and drinking possibilities near by. Hotel’s restaurant was great with good food at a reasonale price. Breakfast was all you could want. Bagged a beachfront room which certainly had the wow factor. Superb swimming pool and half price beer and cocktails in happy hours. Management and staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. You won’t do much better than staying at Awa resort.

Koh Chang' best hotel!”

After staying at 2 other hotels on Koh Chang we decided to stay at Awa, as soon as we arrived we were welcomed by all the staff, especially the manager. The hotel lobby is incredible and really you want to stay in there for a while to experience how awesome this hotel is. We were upgraded to a superior room so we could get the best view, thanks again to the manager, he went above and beyond any of his duties and really made our stay at Awa something special! The room was beautiful, and finally we got a good nights sleep in Koh Chang In a very comfortable bed! Every request we made was attended to, promptly. The pool is incredible and you will want to spend most of your time in and around it. I know the Thai people are friendly, but these guys at Awa were really something else, staying here really made our journey to Koh Chang worth the effort and I would recommend Awa to anybody, it's the only hotel I'd recommend!

Most Convenient and Fabulous Resort in Koh Chang”

It was great to stay in AWA Resort. I've heard this resort just opened and there are 2 properties between Koh Chang main road in Kaibae beach area. It is perfectly located in Kaibae Beach with Beach, Restaurants and Massage shops. We could enjoy at night nearby restaurants. Also, they have awesome swimming pool with nice scenery. However breakfast was quite OK. If I would be there, I am willing to stay AWA resort again.

Very nice hotel”

The AWA Resort hotel on Koh Chang is a very pleasant hotel. It is suitable for families, couples and solo travelers. Located on a beach setting. Restaurant is as you would expect of a 4 star hotel with nice food., but there are other local eateries nearby. Also located near the hotel are nice bars, convenience stores. Car parking is available. Hotel staff are friendly, professional and helpful I would recommend this hotel. We will be going back for another visit.

Perfect location and super nice hotel”

Firstly which is a great location at Koh Chang island, whatever in the island got many district can choose or stay. High ceiling lobby and room design, clean and tidy but request not stay at opposite hotel building. Even the beach is small not good for swim but still can walk pass to other beach. Awa have open entrance door, nice view and comfort balcony, around resort have fruits store, restaurant, convenience store also the massage shop.

Nice experience”

Our recent visit at this AWA location had us happily surprised, even some details could be approved better. Even breakfast and buffet services where great, quality/condition of food could be better. Especially bread, warm dishes and meat.......... Further as there where no big ceiling fans ( air flow ) installed in the nice styled breakfast room completed with outdoor terrace, by actual day temperature, temperature inside was to hot. Small details perhaps.........but as you had asked for clear reactions, perhaps someone can notice this. Overall impression of this hotel accommodation, is far out good ! Great room, nice located, good entertainment, great cleaning and excellent friendly staff.............. who and where ever you meet them...... Chappoo.. Our advise/recommendation : Just visit it and experience same as we did.... Best value against accessible pricing ****- Taxi services front location - approx. 25-30 min. drive from main Koh Chang ferry seaport.

Exceptional”

Pros: Lovely decor and architecture, nice big rooms, very clean, big pool. Two separate happy hours for cocktails by the pool. Good service, attentive staff. They have lots of sun loungers down by the water on an artificial beach area. The proper beach begins just at the edge of the resort. Safe and secure. Kai Bae has quite a few very good restaurants (Bario Bonito, Sharkys), a proper wine bar and cocktail bar. A lovely resort and I would definitely stay here again. Cons: Quite family-orientated, so not ideal if you're looking for some peace and quiet. Very overpriced food and drinks, especially ripping you off for water. Sun loungers by the pool mainly have their backs to the sun.

Exceptional value, clean and modern rooms, delicious breakfast buffet, friendly and professional staff, enormous and beautiful swimming pool. We stayed here for 7 nights and would stay again in a heartbeat. The beach sucks but walk south down to the Kai Bae Beach Resort (10 minutes along the main road) and you will be rewarded with a good beach and you can see baby elephants getting bathed in the ocean (between 3pm and 5pm daily).

Awesome resort”

Every morning you can chose from a diverse and delicious breakfast which you can also enjoy while looking at the beach. Afterwards you can either take a swim at the pool, check out the island or our favourite - go to the massage directly at the beach. It is the perfect place if you want to relax with the sea behind you. All in all we always enjoy our stay at the AWA and we will be back again. If you want to stay at Koh Chang, have a welcoming environment and a beautiful atmosphere for a good and justified price, you should definitely check out that place.

Stylish awesome Hotel!”

We booked a Seaview Room for a nice deal here on Agoda and it was worth every cent. We arrived at second day after opening, but everything was mostly smooth already. The manager and the staff are really very friendly, helpful and attentive. The architecture is modern chinese with some impressive spaces and great feel. The room itself is great, the bed supercomfortable. We slept like on clouds. The seaview is wonderful. Bathroom is spacey and nice with shower and bathtub with view thru he room on the ocean. The aircon is finaly a powerfull one that can cool down the room when you need it. Not too many options to set tho. But for Nighttime I set it on low and it was fine. Food: We only had the breakfast, but to say this.. I was looking forward to have breakfast in the morning as it was really tasty. The Buffet is not overwhelmingly huge, but the quality of food was great. Tasty coffee (capuccino, latte..) and the best smooth-as-silk homemade Yoghurt I ever had! Salad dressings were good too. Thai food tasted ok tho. Beach: If you like a sandy beach you might be a bit dissapointed and peak over to the Chill. AWA has more a pier like look with stairs into the water. But big sand area for lay down under shady coconut trees. (the Pier gives some spectacular watersplashes with higher waves, nice to watch) and for a smooth walk into the water just go over to chills beach.. it is next to AWA. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and will come back

Higly recommended”

We loved Awa Resort, it’s high standard, the food is amazing and beach area very comfortable. The only downside is that there is actually no beach, but it’s right at the end of beautiful white sand beach and the lounge area is really amazing. We also didn’t like that our room was across the main street so it didn’t really feel like resort that much. Also it was VERY hard to connect to wifi, so we could actually use wifi only by reception for short time and we had no wifi in the room. But If you are looking for a comfortable stay, great breakfast buffet away from crazy overcrowded beaches this is a TOP place.

Superb new hotel. ”

This is a brand new hotel. At the time of writing this review this is the BEST hotel on Koh Chang that I have ever stayed at and I visit there quite often and have stayed in all the other top hotels and resorts on the island. This is the hotel I will now be using from now on, until another winner comes along and takes its crown. The rooms are superb and very spacious. The beds are super comfy! I do recommend you upgrade to a Sea View room, you won't regret it, totally worth the extra money. The cheaper rooms are located away from the main building and sea across the road on another block. The swimming pool is awesome. Perfect for swimming lengths its huge. The location is excellent with access by steps straight into the sea for swimming. As I stated the hotel is brand new and there are a few little things that need ironing out but this is to be expected and I will sure be visiting this fabulous place again. The perfect place to relax and chill out!!

Big & beautiful Resort w/ smiley sfaff”

he resort is beautiful and staff is attentive and friendly. The rooms are very good simple yet pretty and work very well as a beach hotel room. Everything was really great but there are two small things worth mentioning: - Mountain View rooms are in another building the other side of the main road. To get to breakfast, pool and beach area you have to walk a bit and cross the main road. - You enter the sea via concrete steps, not through sand. Still I loved staying at Awa Resort!

New & modern resort”

The breakfast buffet is very good. We liked the modern style of the new hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. The beachfront of the resort isn't that beautiful but we liked the chillout area Awa made of it. When you are open to leave the hotel to find the most beautiful beaches on the island, then you will love Awa. We did not try the restaurant in the evenings because the prices are high and we prefer typical Thai food.

Very relaxing”

Everything is so nice and clean. We are enjoying so much good view and nice weather. Especially, the buffer in the dinner time was very wonderful, all the staff are very kindness and gently. If we have planed to go to Koh Chang again, we will definitely choose AWA resort.

Fantastic hotel!”

We stayed at Awa for 10 nights. We had a nice big room with a comfortable bed. Good breakfast, nice pool area and free sun beds on the beach. The location was perfect, nice restaurants in walking distance of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again, Koh Chang is lovely!
