Zen oasis on the northern tip of Phi Phi Island”
Zeavola was a zen oasis for my wife, 5-year old daughter and me following several days in the more off-the-beaten-path islands further south of Koh Phi Phi. Our experience with Zeavola began with a uniformed representative from the hotel picking us at the Ton Sai ferry dock and escorting us to a long-tail boat which took us up the beautiful western side of the island to the back entrance to the hotel (we arrived late in the day and the tide was out so couldn't approach from the main beach on the east side). We were met by another hotel staff member who took us on sand pathways through the manicured grounds to reception and a chilled hibiscus tea drink. We had excellent meals at the beach restaurant and breakfasts were wonderful with a solid option of healthy and comfort foods including great croissants. One of the best things I've eaten in years was the crab gnocchi prepared by Chef Aed. They're served as a side-dish with the black cod, but I made a special request the second night at dinner to have them served as an appetizer. They are amazing! Our experience at Zeavola finished with the high-speed boat that took us to Phuket. Our last memory was the cool, eucalyptus hand towels given to us to refresh before exiting the boat. Nice final touch that characterized an overall rewarding experience at the Zeavola Resort.

Exotic 5 star resort in the middle of nowhere!”
We stayed at the Zeavola for 3 nights in the last part of our honeymoon. It was a long trip from Kata to the pier, a ferry to Son Tai Bay in Phi Phi Don island, and then to the northern part of the island to get to the Zeavola. It was a fun trip because the weather was really windy, so getting off of the ferry (anchored in the middle of the Andaman Sea, about 1 mile away from the beach) and hopping on the longtail boat that takes you to Zeavola, was an experience by itself! The hotel style is based on simplicity. Our villa was very simple, with only the bedroom and the bathroom closed. The living area and a mirror and sink were placed in an open area, with views of the island's vegetation. It was amazing to have free wifi on your own villa... Even though the Zeavola takes lots of precautions for mosquito cotrol, such as fumigating 3x per week, spraying your room every nite, using citronella candles on public areas and giving you complimentary repelent discarding towels each day, there are lots of mosquitoes here, so make sure you bring additional repelent. The beach is amazing. The morning high tides make it ideal for swimming, while the afternoon low tides make it ideal for snorkeling in the reefs (free of charge snorkeling mask, fins and kayaks!). Only the Zeavola and a couple other hotels are in this beach, so there's plenty of space and this makes you feel in a special place. Zeavola has placed some really confortable puffs at the beach, each with it's own sun umbrella, so you can order a drink and for sure will find this to be a super relaxing stay. On each night, Zeavola staff surprised us with a little touch, leaving a small thai doll for good dreams and a cute little cloth elephant. The Baxil restaurant offered great dishes, and an excellent breakfast, with many "fresh and hot from the kitchen" options. Recommended: try the Eggs Benedict. We would've loved to stay some more!

Not the expected beach but a really nice hotel.”
We were expecting to find a very quite beach with less people, but the reality is that is full of boats, people and they had to separate the bath beach from the boats with a line of floaters, not very nice. In the other side, the hotel is wonderful, the rooms are vey original, all in wood, in the middle of the forest, the service is amazing, really very good, everything they can do for you they do it but without intromision on your life. The food is also very good, but if you stay more than 5 or 6 days the menu in not very extense and you finally go some day to eat to some of the restaurants that you can find on the beach. We also visit some of the hotels in the same beach, Holyday Inn, Phi Phi Natural Resort... and we discover that Zeavola is far away the best one in the beach. Phi Phi is quickly growing and maybe this spot is one of the last quite places on all the island. If you want to really visit Phi Phi, Zeavola is for sure the best option.

MUST STAY HERE!!”
We went back and forth on where to stay on Phi Phi for a while as the selection of "nicer" hotels is somewhat limited. Our only hesitation re: Zeavola and the couple other hotels in the same area was distance from the main part of town. BUT WE COULDNT BE HAPPIER that we stayed at Zeavola. It was such a special place. Each room is its own separate hut/villa we a deck, spacious bathroom, we had an outdoor shower. Some of the huts have pools, beach view. The beach is amazing -- water is so blue, bean bag chairs to lay on. The food was delicious. We had them pick us up from the airport -- an extra cost but SO worth it as the take you straight from Phuket to Zeavola vs. having to go to the main bay at Phi Phi first. We also set up a boat excursion for the day w the hotel, which was so easy and convenient, and such a good time. The entire time we were there, my boyfriend and I just kept saying "we are definitely coming back here". A must stay !!

Highlight of the trip”
We had the pleasure of staying at Zeavola in October of 2011. Although we travelled extensively throughout Thailand for two weeks our stay at this hotel was the highlight of the trip. When you dream about going to Thailand you have a vision of a tropical paradise. That is what Zeavola is. It is tucked away on a northern beach on Phi Phi Island but is worth the trip. The staff are unmatched in their service. The bungalows are unique and very clean. Each contains an outdoor shower and wash basin that maintain privacy but give you the charm of a different experience. The restaurant is excellent not only in quality but in service. Eating your meals by the beach and then sitting on couchs fronting the waterfront lit by torches is a truly romantic experience. Phi Phi and the surrounding islands are a unique adventure worthy of a day trip with a longboat which can be negotiated at a reasonable price. We absolutely loved the whole stay and it was worth paying a little extra to have such a wonderful experience.

Zeavola, an Amazing Hotel”
Of the five hotels my wife and I stayed at in Thailand, Zeavola was by far the best. It is located on the north side of the main Phi Phi island, away from the major tourist sections. We went in the rainy season (the low season) so there were even fewer people around at the time, which is great for just getting away. The staff was wonderfully helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic (best green curry and watermelon shakes I've ever had!). The beach was perfect with fine, white sands and warm, blue water. They even provide bean chairs and beach umbrellas for you to lay out on/under. The pool and spa were very nice. We stayed in the Garden suite, which is a private house with a large bedroom and separate bathroom. Everything in it was superb. It was clean and had everything we needed, but unlike other 5-star hotels, this place really had an exotic feel to it because it was built right in the jungle! We even saw some geckos and large toads around the suite. They provided day tours of the surrounding islands, and they provided snorkeling and kayaking gear for free. Zeavola tends to attract a more mature, quiet, and well-mannered crowd, so you won't find any crazy partiers or loud annoying people there. All in all, Zeavola is an excellent and exotic place for those who can afford it.

Zeavola at Phi Phi”
Zeavola is the best of the 2 or 3 resorts on Laem Tong in Phi Phi island. The beach is right at the door step, and is stunning. The villas have been designed as dark, all wood, mosquito-netted atmospheric type rooms, which is nice, but a little more light at times would have been nice. A bath tub was also sorely missed. The resort, being built amongst bushes and trees was a pleasure ground for mosquitoes - the resort sprays regularly but visitors should still remember to be on guard!

Amazing location, very relaxing &value for money”
The Zeavola was lovely, a beautiful beach, good spacious rooms, good food and nice people, one of the most delightul places we have stayed in Thailand. Please beaware that the resort is not on the main part of Phi Phi and to get anywhere it is a fairly expensive boat ride. The boats are long tail boats so its quite the authentic thai experience. Although the spa was being renovated and they had moved the massage room to a village suite the massage I had was one of the best I've ever had, which even topped the evason Hua hin massage I have had. We would definatly stay here again, if you are worried about Tsunami's though I would probably book a high room like a pool villa. I was pretty paranoid to be honest. They have free kayaks you can take out to go snokeling, and there is good snokeling everywhere! We met the chef and he was lovely and made great food, presented nicely. The tour to Maya island we did through the hotel was awesome, we had a private long tail boat, although the "tour guide" was not much of a talker. Overall it was a romantic experience for us, but if your keen to party head to Tong Sai bay for the beach bars, the boat ride is expensive though!

Amazing place”
We are a couple from the UK (ages 28/29) and stayed in a garden suite. We used the spa facilities a lot which were amazing value for money, if a little more expensive than other places in Thailand. The price is fully justified though by the quality of the facilities, cleanliness, the surroundings and the staff. The rooms incorporate inside/outside living, are well-equipped and include a luxurious, discrete outside shower as well as the normal one. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Every evening someone came to de-mozi our room (there are loads of mozi's on Phi Phi) and turn our bed down and left small gifts for my girlfriend each night. The dive shop is a little more expensive than the other 2 on the beach but again it is worth it as they fully look after you (kit set-up, lunch, other activities). In UK terms everything is really good value for money. The only changes I would make is to put it on the other side of the island so that you could watch the sunset (but then you would miss sun-rise, I am an evening person!) and have more rooms (it is difficult to get in at short notice being the only 5 star on Phi Phi). Zeavola is nothing short of amazing!

Idyllic jungle retreat on the beach ”
this is probably the priciest yet also the nicest hotel in the most quiet location on ko phi phi. it was my 5th time on phi phi and my second time here. zeavola is perfect to escape from it all for a few days, especially as a couple. you kick off your shoes at check-in and don't wear them until the day you leave. it is not cheap, yet you pay for the location, the attention for detail, the spaciousness. we enjoyed the pink sunsets on the hotel's bean bags while sipping a cocktail. people who need a busy nightlife should not stay on this beach as it is really mellow and quiet in the evenings. booking snorkeling or dive trips through the hotel is expensive. breakfast is nice with lots of choices although i think for this price range, they should offer guests better coffee. even the cappuccino from their coffee machine was quite weak.

The Perfect Oasis on Phi Phi”
It's hard to imagine a more perfect island resort. With it's own beautiful beach and impeccably maintained facilities, it was hard to leave Zeavola after 5 blissful nights. The Activity Center has a variety of great tours and excursions at fair prices, in quality boats and the service cannot be beat. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet which includes a selection of items that you can order fresh off a menu (the Maharaja breakfast was a stand out!) Dinners and lunches at the restaurant are also fantastic, should you choose to dine on sight. The staff at every level is fantastic and eager to please. They also organize a number of social and cultural events on-sight to keep things interesting and give you a chance to meet other guests if you are staying for a while. We explored most of the island of Phi Phi while we were there, and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere other than Zeavola. It great to be able to escape the madness of Tonsai and stay in a truly relaxing, luxurious resort.

Pure Bliss”
This is how a hotel should be! Basically generous bungalows spread amongst a beachfront garden adjoined by a sandy labyrinth of tracks. When we stepped off the boat in Phi-Phi and soon discovered that this hotel was at the other end of the island only accessible by longtail boat, I was a bit concerned, but soon found that this little enclave of hotels is perhaps the most layback place on earth, If you are not interested in the Phi-Phi nightlight - then I recommend this area of the island for the best relaxation holiday available. No traffic, no hawkers, no noise, just beautiful warm sandy beaches. I really enjoyed the hotel beach bean bags. You truly can get by for days here without shoes. This hotel does everything well, however its all the little 1% things that make a difference and really set it apart from other resorts WARNING SPOILERS i.e. the little gifts - a picture of you in frame along your bed, the bed toys, turning down the bed and setting the mood in your room at night - to name a few. I loved the standard issued room mosquito zappers. Meal times were a pleasure, either in the beach side bar or the restaurant. The breakfast (range and quality) is hands down the best I've had in Thailand. We were also pleased to discover the hotel has its own speedboat which for a little bit more than the cost of the ferry will transfer you to the Royal Marina in Phuket (and onwards to your hotel). A pleasant journey which is much quicker and more comfortable. This hotel is impossible to fault and highly recommended.

Relaxing paradise but not a great start”
Payed $600 for one night in the pool villa suite. High price but Thailand/Phi Phi island is quite expensive compared with the rest of Asia countries. Had transfers arranged prior and all seemed efficient until we arrived at Phuket airport and there was nobody to greet us as arranged..... Not good start for a "5 star hotel with price to match". the email had stated our representative would be there outside the arrivals hall with your name on sign board and would be delighted to assist you on arrival. Van transport, ferry ticket and long tail transfer were pre arranged total price 2000 bht plus 1100 bht for long tail. We waited 30minutes but no one met us. After 3 phone calls to the resort finally met by someone asking if we were going to Zeavola but didn't seem like he was sure himself. Definately not hotel representative with sign board. He ushered us to the van. The ferry ride was at 3 pm and apparently 1 hour van ride from airport so finally left airport 40minutes after arrival and now close to ferry departure time. We originally wanted to take resort speed boat at 2 pm but we're told by resort this was not possible as our flight landed at 1pm and not enough time. We said we only had carry on baggage but we were told they would not confirm us on the speed boat and had to take 3 hour ferry/long tail boat ride instead. After speaking to the van driver he told us only 30 minutes from airport to Phuket marina. It was 1:40pm when we left the airport, we asked as we were late being picked up and only 30 minutes to Phuket could we still catch the speedboat as that would get us to the hotel at least 2 and 1/2 hours early. The guy made a call then spoke to the driver and said basically get us to the speed boat. Both guys had little to no English ability so it was hard to request the speed boat but we managed. The driver was great he drove like superman at about twice the speed limit and got us to the speed boat by 2:01pm only 21 mins from airport! Very relaxing from then.

Exceptional”
Zeavola is a beautiful hotel nestled amongst the trees. We had a garden suite and we were very happy with our room. You felt like you had your own little slice of paradise. Our room was perfect for our stay but I feel that if we had been there a week then it may have gotten a little irritating with the mozzies. I say that because we spent all our time on the deck/lounge and its not enclosed. Please don't get me wrong, we loved our garden suite and will go back in the future. The staff were very friendly and professional. The GM is great, we had some lovely chats with him while we were at breakfast. He really has put together a great team of people. The breakfast was the best we had in Phi Phi, everything was very tasty. I hope they plant some more trees around the pool because I think it needs some more shade especially at the end of April when were were there...very hot We'll back one day!

Dear Khun Lars, Thank you very much for your thrilling review. It is great to see that you appreciated our special concept of stepping back in time and to simplicity. The jungle vibe is a great alternative to those "normal" resorts and will create for sure lasting positive memories. We hope to welcome you one day soon again. All the best, Lion, Florian & The Zeavola Family
Zeavola”
This hotel is just perfect. We were told it was full when we were there but hardly ever saw anyone ... which is just what we were looking for: enjoying Koh Phi Phi without the mass of tourists. This hotel is heaven: the private villa are wonderfull, the staff is very polite, smilling and always helpful. The spa is just a dream. The beach is perfect and the activities proposed were perfect: we enjoyed a boat tour to the ever crowded Maya beach with many great snorkelling stops and ... avoided the crowd there too !

Location was a dream”
zeavola is a lovely resort on a relatively exclusive part of koh phi phi. it is overprice, as is anything on the island, however it is a destination you would choose expecting this well in advance. breakfast is decent, and the romantic bbq on the beach is brilliantly set up.

Amazing resort and would go back ”
Zeavola was an amazing getaway and wish we stayed more than 2 nights. Felt well taken care of from the start and the villas are great. The bean bags on the beach are amazing. Only con would be that we had to figure out ourselves that we needed a long tail from main phi phi pier which costs 1100 baht one way and the hotel did not inform us about this we luckily just found out the day before.

Super nice resort on vest side of Koh Phi Phi Island , Krabi. We stayed for 14 days and it was paradise. Nice , clean and a very helpfull staff. In the morning we where always meet with a goodmorning to our first names and after only 2 days , we diden't have to ordre anything , Tom the waiter already new and the food is good and the breakfast offers a good selection of hot and differnt plates . In the reception , we where always welcome and Harvy helped with everything. The swimming pool and beach was clean and nice to swim in. We can only recoment as a big 5 star resort.

Beautiful beach and excellent staff”
We were there 2 adults and 1 child (4), the beach is really nice although there is not a great deal to see when snorkelling. The staff and the food are both excellent, we were made to feel very comfortable here and out of all the other options in the area this is the best we could see. There are some boat trips that come onto the beach but the hotel staff are very discrete at keeping the feeling at our part private and secluded. The rooms/villas are very nice and clean if a little rustic but not in a bad way - they are wooden with decking area to sit. Mosquitos were an issue for us but once I had the right spray (available from shop) all was good. We got a boat by ourselves to go to phi phi - thoroughly recommend this as there was nobody there first thing, if you go any later its too busy to be enjoyable. We got the boat through the resort and the staff in the excursion shop are excellent. I would recommend going here and we would go back again.

beautiful and exotic resort!!! perfect relaxation!”
zeavola was perfect in many ways for a relaxing getaway. the beach was very beautiful and overall the resort was very well kept. staff was friendly and all services were easily accessable. one thing to note about staying at zeavola is that it is located far from the main phiphi island pier and local attractions. so, if you want to get out of the resort you need to hire a longtail boat(1,100 thb one way). they offer a boat ferry service directly from phuket to zeavola, roundtrip, but the price is steeper than taking the ferries in and out from phiphi pier. if you plan to stay only at zeavola during your vacation, this is the place to stay when in thailand. we loved it!
