Tranquil island paradise, would definitely return!”
You know what you imagine when you think about the Thai Islands? Phi Phi Relax Resort fulfills that image to a tee. Tucked away on the other side of the island (far away from the tourist hell of Ton Sai), Phi Phi Relax completely lives up to its name. We booked a Garden Bungalow, which was fine, but I'd recommend booking one of the bungalows with a sea view or at least higher up on the hillside. Bungalows are private, but spaced quite close together so noise travels at night. Once you're there, you're basically hostage to their restaurant and store, although prices are quite reasonable. There's a large selection of food, both Western and Thai, to make everybody happy. FYI - breakfast is not included In the price of the bungalows. There is a "safe" area that is centrally held for which they do not charge. However, once you check in your things, it will cost you 50 baht to check it out and you can only do that once (I found this a bit annoying). We booked a full-day Koh Phi Phi (Donn and Leh) trip through the resort and were quite pleased. Food and snorkeling gear were provided, and the friendly guide moves at the group's pace. The hotel also rents snorkeling equipment for use during the day. Note: the resort is only accessible by long tail boat, which runs 300 baht/pp from Ton Sai. When you get to the main dock, look for the guy with dreads, he'll guide you to the right boat. If you're expecting infinity pools and a butler - this isn't your kind of place. Electricity only runs from 6pm-6am and the showers are cold...but with a gorgeous beach and aquamarine water right in front of you, what more do you need?

beautiful resort”
Stayed in this resort for 2 nights and wen to Patong on the 3rd day... came on the 22nd jan-24jan.. this resort is truely a hidden gem... very hidden actually! Its quite time consuming to go here if u come from Phuket airport.... airport to rassada pier takes 45mins, ferry to Phi Phi pier is at 230pm, its almost 2hr ferry ride to Phi Phi pier. From Phi Phi pier, a long tail ride abt 30mins to the resort... but, wen u arrived at the resort, everything is worth it!!! The beach is sooooo beautiful, we check in, throw our bags, and dip in the sea for 1hr as its already 5pm wen we reach there.. beautiful corals and fishes! Superb for snorkeling! The restaurant serves the best tom yam ever!! I love the food sooooooo much. Breakfast lunch n dinner is damn good! Not expensive at all! I dun understand y other reviews mention expensive food serve in this resort.... its cheap, n the portion is huge! I love the rooms as well... beautiful view, comfy bed, only no aircon.... but its ok... we r busy swimming in the day, n the heat doesn't bother us!! U should try the thai & oil massage!! 500 bhat for 1hr!! Super cheap n super worth it!! Head to toe massage!! Love it!! I'm staying in the relax bungalow room 34, less den 10 meters to the beach and restaurant. I paid much cheaper den the coral and paradised bungalow, but I'm getting the same view as them! Excellent service in the restaurant, but the front desk lady with the short hair is unfriendly at times! She wont look at u wen she talks to u. Kinda rude. So no tip for her! The rest, deserve our tips... thumbs up for them! Will come back next year wif my family...

Amazing! ”
The Phi Phi Relax Beach Resort was amazing!!! It's on a private beach which has crystal clear turquoise water. Once you get to Koh Phi Phi, you will have to take another boat which will take you to the resort. There are about 20 bungalows which are built steps away from the beach. My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the top seaview bungalows which had a breathtaking view of the ocean framed by the palm trees and other tropical flora. The staff is extremely nice and friendly, but they're all locals to the island so English isn't their first language. As long as you're patient, you shouldn't have a problem communicating with them. The wi-fi is available but not very fast, so if you need to do anything online it'd be wise to do it before you arrive or you will most likely need to wait after you get back to the mainland. However, once you're at the Phi Phi Relax Beach Resort, the last thing you probably will want to do is send emails or check social media because it's an incredible escape from reality!

Definately Relaxing”
This is the fourth year in a row we have come back to stay at Relax and there is a good reason for that. Located far enough from the hustle and bustle of Phi Phi town yet close enough to get there by longboat, it is tranquil with beautiful natural surroundings and a great uncrowded beach with views of Bamboo and Mosquito Islands. The snorkelling around the coral reef that runs the length of the resort is one of the best we have found anywhere on Phi Phi with clear water, beautiful corals and abundant and varied marine life - giving you the feeling that you are swimming in an enormous aquarium. Over the years we have taken the time to get to know a lot of the staff that work there and they are the friendliest and most accommodating people we have found anywhere - language is not a barrier if you are prepared to be patient and make the effort to get around it Yes there is no electricity during the day - it is switched on between 6pm and 7am - however we found that the room fan was sufficient to keep us comfortable during the night Lack of hot water for a shower was also not a problem as the water is heated by the sun during the day. The restaurant serves both authentic thai food as well as western dishes and is moderately priced and of excellent quality. The resort has a complementary longboat pickup service from the wharf and yes when you get out of a longboat you have to step in water. Usually we stay in a beach front bungalow where you walk a few steps and you're right on the beach. This year we stayed in one of the newly constructed Top Sea View Bungalows which was very private had spectacular views over the ocean. And yes there is no elevator to these rooms (rolls eyes) you actually have to walk up stairs - in fact we had 120 stairs to our bungalow which was excellent exercise after a big breakfast and dinner. Not recommended for people with walking disabilities but we are both over 50 and coped with the steps no problems.

Little Paradise!”
Just 2 words: little paradise! We loved the location on a secluded beach only accessible by 30 minutes long tail boat from the Ton Sai pier or by 1 hour sweaty trek in the jungle. The basic, clean bungalows all come with private balcony and even from those in the back (we were in room # 32, the third row from the beach) you get a nice view of the beach and the water. Food was terrific and well priced. Staff was very friendly and worked very hard all day long to make sure you have a pleasant stay. The resort organizes daily snorkelling excursions with their own boats and we found their prices to be very reasonable: 700 Baht/person for the half day snorkelling trip to Bamboo and Moskito Island, or Baht/person for the full day trip which includes all the must see on Koh Phi Phi Leh. At the pier, look for the "rasta-pirate" looking young man.....he is your greeting host and they will bring you to the resort with their boat for person. Overall a fantastic and relaxing stay on Phi Phi

Amazing experience ”
We stayed at the Phi Phi Relax resort last October and had an amazing stay. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed by the staff and were blown away by how beautiful this resort really was. The beachfront bungalow lived up to our expectations and more. Yes it only has basic wash facilities and electric only in the evening. This was no shock as the resort don't hide this fact and for us really wasn't a problem. In fact it made our stay more relaxing as we went back to basics. The restaurant and bar facilities were really good and not at all expensive. After reading reviews we were expecting to spend a lot more on food and drink but this was not the case at all. We also never encountered any bad service from the staff in fact quite the opposite. When we booked this property we wanted a hut on a beautiful beach which resembled paradise and we wasn't disappointed. Since returning home we often talk about the phi phi relax with such fond memories and do intend on returning back some day. If mod cons and lively bars is what you want this resort is not got you. If you want paradise, simple but beautiful accommodation and a great experience then I would definitely recommend this property.

Heaven on Earth!”
We stayed at Phi Phi Relax for 2 nights and wished we could stay longer. Situated on the quieter side of Phi Phi, it is an idyllic paradise of jungle and beach. The resort really lives up to it's name and offers the perfect place to relax and soak up the surrounding beauty. The staff offered excellent service and were always friendly and welcoming. We splashed out and got the Coral Bungalows on the beach, which were worth every cent: waking up to the sounds of the waves lapping merely metres from your balcony and the sun streaming through the windows. The rooms were clean and neatly kept. Excellent food. Definitely worth returning for. The highlight of our holiday! Thank you Phi Phi Relax!!

Fantastic beach holiday destination”
having heard that ko phi phi can disappoint, we were very satisfied with this resort. we slept in thatched bungalows with a mosquito net and a large en-suite which had been built around a rock that was part of the features of the shower! there was a covered balcony and small views of the sea (other bungalows have great sea views but cost more). but this didn't matter as we just walked down to the white sanded beach in 1 minute to find deckchairs, hammocks and swings in which to relax, watch the sea and drink well prepared drinks. the staff were very friendly and helpful with great senses of humour! they organised a half-day trip to phi phi leh and the snorkelling was out of this world. we also hired a kayak and joined in free yoga classes on the beach (only available a certain times of the year). the resort was quiet with no late night discos or revels. it really is a place to relax and destress.

Stunning setting and amazing staff! ”
We loved our stay at phi phi relax beach resort, we stayed from Friday to Sunday and enjoyed every minute. If your looking for a tranquil quiet place this is for you, there is no TVs, the wifi isn't that good and there isn't much to do but eat, sleep, sunbath and drink! I have to say the rooms could do with some kind of air conditioning equipment as it is very warm at night, the mosquito nets block quite a bit of the breeze from your fan or outside but it was no big deal. Absolutely wonderful staff, a young man called Baw was there morning and night in the restaurant with his big smile and lovely humour, he made our whole trip to phi phi wonderful. I would definitely visit here again, and hope to come back soon!

Exceptional”
I’m not quite sure how I didn’t read any reviews on this before booking it but some things you should know... First of all our ocean front bungalow was amazing! The staff was so helpful and friendly! But the location and process of getting to the hotel was shocking to me. Once you arrive at the pier in phi phi you have to get on a ferry boat to the hotel which depending on conditions takes about 20 minutes. Then you get off the boat and walk through water as employees help you and carry your bags. Not that big of a deal except depending on the tides/weather you could end up neck deep in waves trying to get to your room. Just be aware of this when booking. Some families on our boat had small children that were crying bc of the huge waves and another woman was scared because she didn’t know how to swim. The next day the water didn’t look like that but it could definitely happen to you. Once you arrive you’re basically isolated from the rest of the island. It costs 150 baht per person every time you take the taxi boat and it only runs from 8-5. You can hike up to the viewpoint and down to the other side of the island which we did but it is TIRING and I’m 26. Also if you don’t have oceanfront be aware that your room could be up lots of stairs! It is kind of nice to be isolated and have some quiet from the madness of phi phi though.

Thank you for your review.
Relaxing it certainly was”
we have returned to the uk after spending 7 nights at phi phi relax and we certainly did relax. we stayed in beachfront room (b3)the rooms are fairly spacious for 2 people. with only about 5 paces to the baech we could not have asked for a better location. the resort seems very well staffed and the ones we had dealings with were very helpful and friendly. the food was good quality and a large enough menu not to get bored. if i were going to be very picky...the only slight drawback (and slight it is)...is that the electric goes off at approx 7am after the fan went off we found the room heated up very quickly so did not have any lie-ins....although we didnt want to waste the sunshine and warm waters anyway. just a point for others wishing to visit the phi phi relax ...the sun dips down quite early on this side of phi phi and if there is a high tide you lose the sun a bit early......although not a problem for us just another excuse for a cocktail!! all in all a great place to unwind and enjoy doing very little and we would visit again.

Relaxed vibe from arrival to departure”
After reading all of the reviews for Phi Phi Relax I figured we would either love it or hate it. In the end, we loved it BUT I can see how it's not for everyone. You're essentially at a camp on the ocean with limited electricity, no hot water, critters like mosquitos and frogs, all perched on a gorgeous beach. If you're the kind who doesn't mind a little camping, or who enjoyed summer camp as a kid, or think it would be fun to live like a LOST character, you will probably like this place too! After looking at the other "resort" we considered booking while we were in Ton Sai one afternoon, I was really happy with our choice... Relax's beach is stunning and at high tide the sandy bottom is plentiful; at low tide it's a bit rocky getting into the water but you just have to watch where you are walking. The food overall is good with a few outstanding items like the BBQ chicken and BBQ fish. The bar is stocked and offers some tasty "shakes" (slushies) of which the coconut and lime are must-try. The criticism that the food is expensive is a bit overstated, I think. For breakfast we had eggs/toast/coffee for 140bht. A beer was 60bht, a shake 70bht, BBQ dinner plate 250bht, platter of springrolls 100bht. This wasn't much different from the pricing in Ton Sai, so despite being a captive audience at Relax, I thought the prices were fair. I wasn't up for a party beach scene; I wanted sun, water, sleep, and total relaxation without having to "work" on my vacation and this place was perfect. SOME THINGS TO KNOW: 1. you can get a little wet (or a lot wet) on the long boat but it's fun 2. you get into the long boat from the pier, but you get out into a foot or more of water, so wear shorts and be prepared to take off your shoes, the staff will handle your bags 3. mosquito spray can make you more comfortable; pick some up at the drug store right off the pier in Ton Sai, 4. make sure you bring enough sun screen; there are no stores here 5. Power is on from dusk to dawn, so that mean

Total island paradise”
Phi Phi Relax cannot really be described as a hotel. It has a variety of beach huts on the beach and up the side of the hill and those people staying here and the pleasure of having the beach all to themselves. It has a dreamlike quality. Wake up to the sound of the sea and watch the tide come in right up to the bar and restaurant and then fall back out to reveal plenty of wildlife the children love to discover. There is nothing to do at the actual resort apart from watching the sea, swinging on rope swings over the water, reading, talking and relaxing. People do not come here to party or to saunter around pools, or show off, or to burden others with their high expectations of 'luxury'. They come here to relax in stunning natural surroundings. Phi Phi Relax feels like you have been stranded on a desert island and sometimes that is just what you need to recharge your batteries. You can book tours and go for walks. There is a restaurant that is open most of the night. We drank cocktails and ate tasty noodle dishes and didn't worry about a thing!

Paradise ”
From the moment we hopped off the boat into the water and made our way up the beach, we knew we had found paradise by the sea. Phi phi relax is an ideal spot for those on honeymoon (like us) or looking for a break away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The secluded beach is ideal for lazy days in the sun, swimming and snorkeling around the many coral reefs just of the beach or a reasonably priced tour to Kho Phi Leh. The food was excellent and reasonably priced considering that the resort has a captive audience. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and they definitely helped to make our stay even more enjoyable. We would love to come back here one day and would definitely recommend this resort to others.

Our stay at Phi Phi”
We had a very enjoyable stay at Phi Phi relax. The resort is truly breath taking, a paradise. As soon as we got off the ferry there was someone waiting with a sign to take us on the taxi boat. The staff were helpful, they guided people on and off the boat and also loaded bags and suitcases. There is a very welcoming atmosphere at the resort. Staff were extremely friendly and happy to help. The beach is beautiful, very clean and lots of hammocks and chairs. The resort also provided buckets and spades and other games to use free of charge. We went on the half day trip which cost 900 tbh and it was worth every penny. Probably the best boat trip we have ever done. The driver was again very friendly and helpful and although he didn't speak much english he was informative where he could be. The room was basic but had everything we needed and I felt much more comfortable because of the mosquito net around the bed. There were insects and wild life, some of which ventured into our room but I suppose it's to be expected as we were in the jungle. Overall a very pleasant stay, we would definitely recommend this resort.

Great location!”
The hotel is very basic but on the best location of Phi Phi. You can only get to the hotel with a water taxi or with the hotel boat pick up. It is remote and away from all the tourists and on the best, most beautiful beach of the island. Snorkling there was amazing - the kids and we adults spent hours doing that. There is not much to do there - as it is secluded - except snorkel, lay on the beach, relax, enjoy the sunset cocktail bar, and the nice food. During our stay, the staff did a fire show in the evening. The food was always good and fairly priced. The staff was very friendly. Only down side was that it does not have air conditioners in the rooms - but the manager gave us 2 fans when we told her that it was too hot for us. It is a hotel in a very natural environment. If we go to Phi Phi, we will absolutely stay there again.

Very nice and basic place”
Wonderful location - north east side of Ko Phi Phi Don. Very nice beach with superb snorkeling on the reef just 20 meters out (you can rent gear for a very reasonable price). Basic and cosy huts in traditional south Thai style that fit wonderfully and non-obtrusive in the landscape. Nice and airy bedroom equipped with a Thai style bed (i.e. hard), mosquito net, fan, stand for suitcase/backpack and rack for hanging clothes. Spotless clean and basic bathroom with "one temperature water". (Water is a scarce commodity out here.) Very nice veranda/porch with reclining matresses. This time, I stayed in a back row hut, and the generator was very audible from 6 pm to midnight, when it was turned off again. (You have electricity in your room from 6 pm to 6 am.) The staff is no less than fantastic: Friendly and attentive. Very nice restaurant and beach bar. Prices are a bit on the high side as all supplies have to be shipped in and all waste has to be shipped out. The restaurant is very popular with the people living next door (Power Beach Resort)... They appearantly have no restaurant or bar. On one side, it crowds up the facilities on Relax Beach, on the other side, you get the chance to meet new folks. This time, I met a fantastic couple from South Africa, who lived next door. I keep coming here for a good reason: The beautiful and quiet surroundings, the eco-mind the place is driven from, and the fantastic staff. They offer easy access to Ton Sai via long tail boat. And they arrange a lot of trips - Monkey Island, Mosquito Island, fishing trips etc. They have kayaks for rent, and a couple of experienced masseuses offer a range of treatments in their lodge which has a beautiful view to the water. This is as close to nature you get, while still having four walls around you, so remember your bug repellant. (If not, they sell it in their little shop.)

Beautiful resort and fantastic staff”
This was one of the cheapest resorts on our holiday in Thailand, and it was my favourite. From the moment we stepped off the long tail boat onto the private beach we were greeted by beautiful sand and sea, and friendly staff. Beach was picturesque, with its clear blue sea and white sand - perfect for relaxing on the beach, and plenty to see snorkelling and swimming. Food in the restaurant (where we ate 3 meals a day) was amazing (anyone complaining clearly picked the english/american options which is hardly surprising considering your in Asia!) We ate typical thai cuisine and the food was on par with the best of our two week trip and the staff serving it were fantastic - they couldn't do enough for you, and the same can be said for the bar and reception area - in fact every member of staff was fantastic. We made the most of the day trips on offer while we stayed, and did the four islands tour, which includes visits to different beaches and islands - plus three opportunities to snorkel. One of the thai staff members takes you on a long tail for the whole day, even going out of his way to show us areas which we pointed out we'd like to see, even though they weren't part of the tour. On the trip we saw thousands of fish and blacktip reef sharks, plus lots of monkeys. All in all, we would highly recommend this resort, and if (hopefully) were in Phi Phi again we will definitely be returning here!

Amazing, super friendly staff, ”
We found our stay on Phi Phi Relax amazing. The location is remote and away from the party side of the island. The staff we very friendly and accommodating and always made an effort to make you feel welcome. Our room was beautiful and we had a stunning view of the beach and ocean. The beach is also kept very clean which was nice to see. However, the prices of food and drink were very pricey and although we had anticipated them to be more expensive then other places on the main land, 50baht for a soft drink was being quite cheeky. The resort also offers day trips although at a much higher price then you would find on the pier with no chance of a refund if the trip was to be cancelled. Overall a good experience but disappointed to see they'd taken every possible change to take advantage of their remote location and inflate their prices dramatically.

Great out of the way resort on phi phi”
The resort is in the northeast corner of the island on it's own beach and only accessible by long boat from the main phi phi pier, so it's out of the way, which is great if you are looking for quiet. Great value for the money, it is a comfortable getaway resort with beautiful surroundings, comfortable cottages and good food in the restaurant. Be prepared for no hot water and only electricity from 6am to 6pm, which is not that big of deal for island living. Would recommend the excursion to phi phi leh as well, which does not allow any hotels on the island given it's protected. Overall a well run resort, a little gem on what has become a tourist trap of an island.
