Relaxation”
This was our second visit to Thailand, last year we stayed at a 5 star resort and was quite isolated. We much preferred staying at the Mukdara as it was very conveniently located. On the one side you have Bang Niang beach.where we took a morning stroll after breakfast. In the evening you can also watch the sun setting whilst enjoying cocktails or a beer, happy hour helps knowing you can buy one get one free. you are only a short stroll outside the front of the resort to a good selection of bars and restaurants, and shops where you can get everything you need. There is a local night market where you get clothes shoes and the usual tourist items, and then there is the food. Wow market food was incredible very cheap and real quality I recommend you visit if only to try the food. The grounds at the Mukdara are impeccable and the ground staff do a excellent job they are always busy pruning and tidying etc. I would say the staff overall are brilliant very helpful and cheerful. I would recommend using the hotel transport to and from the airport it is a very enjoyable and relaxing experience and compared to airport prices much cheaper, I would also say safer. We stayed in a deluxe villa which we booked ourselves through agoda and was a very easy process. That said I couldn't get the airport transfer going there despite requesting a form from them which I didn't receive but other than that I booked through agoda as they were £100 cheaper than anyone else. Our villa was brilliant and the outside shower was an experience not to be missed. We came here for the chance to relax and unwind which you will do with no problem I would definitely recommend staying here and using agoda as the booking agent.

Pleasant surprise and lovely hotel”
i wasn't sure what to expect i'd never been to khao lak before and i wasn't even sure if the hotels were actually what they seemed in the websites but mukdara certainly lived up to the hype. i loved the royal wing villa that i stayed in- nothing bad to say about it at all and the staff were always ready to assist me in anything that i needed. sure, sometimes they didn't understand what was beng said, but that can happen anywhere( just speak slower and use words tgar are easily understood;layman's language ). the grounds of the hotel is breathtakingly and painstakingly well landscaped with beautiful ponds, statues, water features and even a waterfall by one of the villas. take the trouble to walk ard and admire them. the beach pool was popular and rightly so. stunning view of the ocean from there and the restaurants were just beside it. rest assured, kids will definitely love this hotel! the only thing that may bother some people is the fact that the wifi is only available at the lobby and you have to ask them for a 1-hour password. so after your hour is up, you will have to ask them for a new pswd again. also, there are tons of mosquitos lurking at the lobby, especially in the evenings. there is a restaurant just beside the hotel that is worth a mention- called mojo. it was newly opened when i went, but already very popular with the guests around the area. joy, the manager provides excellent service and is sincere in taking care of customers.

A nice hotel for real relaxation”
I stayed at Mukdara for one week, and during my stay there it was great. Although I came as a solo traveler, the staff made sure that I felt at home as they always smiled, and asked if things were all right. The location of the hotel is good. You can find restaurants and small shops close to the hotel. The restaurant at the hotel was also fine and the price was reasonable. I booked the deluxe royal wing. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very big including all the amenities that I needed. The breakfast was great although the choices were a bit limited. The beach was long, soft and fine. I could take long walks and enjoyed the beauty of the Andaman sea. I would recommend Khao Lak for those who really like to enjoy sun, sand and sea. It's really not a place for nightlife. Sometimes you can get a bit bored if you come alone because there are not many things to do except lying on the beach and swimming. Maybe it's better to come with a friend/friends, or as couple.

Beyond my expectations”
From the moment we arrived we received excellent service at the Mukdara. Sue on reception was excellent. The room was excellent, we paid for the deluxe option which was well worth the money, although we saw the standard room which was also nice. The breakfast and food was great and as we were in low season we had no problem lounging by the pools wherever we wanted. We used the spa facilites and these were also excellent and very relaxing. We saw the other hotels down the beach and we were happy we chose the Mukdara, I would happily return.

Nice stay”
This is a nice hotel with all necessary facilities set in a lush garden with cool shade, water ponds and flowers. Good breakfast with many dishes and fruit to choose from, the duplex villas we stayed in are spacious and comfy enough. The rooms are a bit tired and the bathroom faucets ask for replacement though. The cleaning is just ok but pretty superficial. The hotel offers two big pools, a free tennis court and a small gym. The beach is so-so with waves and sandy water but it's long if you like beach walking and go to the left, the right side is rocky and impassible. The beaches and sea water are pretty much the same in all Khao Lak, we didn't see much difference when we went to the White Sand beach to compare except for the sand color. So I would definitely not consider the beach quality as a major factor when choosing accomodation in Khao Lak. The location is very good, with lots of cafes and a market nearby. The hotel feels more relaxed, and not crowded compared to its neighbors.

beautiful private beach resort”
overall a good stay for the price. except for the room finishing and room amenities were not as high of a standard as expected for this type of resort, it felt dreary and aging. the room size is smaller than a few other places i stayed at in khao lak. the location was perfect: private beach + shops/restaurants nearby. the staff was friendly and efficient, just as expected and similar to my previous 2 stays in this area. the breakfast buffet was great, my whole family enjoyed it (the breakfast and their stay at mukdara).

On the nice beach, large pools, good location”
just a few steps away from the noisiest action, but still easy to walk to nearby restaurants and shops. the hotel restaurant is cheap and good and offers a beautiful view to the sunset. if you wish to visit khao lak center, the taxi (150 baht) is required. we were first given the ground floor room (on the royal wing), but the air was a bit dull, so we asked and got a room from the 3rd floor. the bed was quite hard but the reception provided us some mattresses which solved that problem. the staff was effective and helpful, but could improve their english. the rooms were large, clean and nice. the transport arranged by hotel to phuket airport was cheaper than the airport transfer service from phuket to hotel. one has to be an early bird when catching the sun bed, as after the brakfast they were all reserviert.

Most Relaxing Vacation Ever”
We spent a week at Mukdara and loved every minute of it. The location was perfect for us. The grounds are beautiful, the pools are lovely, the setting right on the beach is great! Breakfast was always good, with enough choices each day to satisfy changing appetites. We asked for a ride from the hotel we were staying at in Phuket, and the very friendly drivers were there with big smiles right on time in the morning. We also got a ride back to Phuket and they happily took us to the next hotel we were staying at. The drivers were cautious and the ride was enjoyable. The one thing we would have liked to be better was the comfort of the bed...just too hard for us, but that really is a personal preference

Beautiful resort! Friendly service”
My mom and I had a fun time at Mukdara! Wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is beautiful, with great facilities (swimming pools, beach, tennis courts, gym, bars...). It was a very comfortable stay. At night, the street it's located on comes alive with the laid back music, restaurants, and bars. So much more "Thai" and chill than Phuket. Also, the staff is warm and friendly. Housekeeping would leave us sweet notes and flowers everyday they cleaned our room, and the management sent us fresh fruit!

Nice Hotel for Families w Children”
We stayed 4 nights at the Mukdara and had a very good time. The staff at the reception is lovely and helpful at all aspects. The gardens are nicely groomed and make it an amazing environment. However on a closer look, the facilities need repair works, which includes the rooms. Unfortunately we had to upgrade the room as there's no hand shower in the Villas (difficult to shower a toddler). The upgraded unit was an exact replace except for the modern Jacuzzi in the bathroom - faucets however were loose so temperature hard to adjust. Water pressure in the sink non-existent. Staff at the breakfast buffet needs to be asked for coffee several times, not very attentive despite being plenty around. Children swimming pool unfortunately full of bugs and dead flies, not given much attention for a cleaning. With a few minor improvements the Mukdara could be an excellent place, with the above points however it makes it just "good".

Beautiful and relaxing resort. ”
Amazing. Great service upon check in with welcome drink and cold towel as weather is too hot in Khao Lak. Location is great with cheap massage just outside the hotel, shopping and restaurants all within walking distance. Strategically located. Breakfast varieties are huge, beach is beautiful and is just infront of the resort. However, it is a distance to walk if you stay in the main building (non villa) of the resort. I will recommend friends and relatives to this resort in Khao Lak.

Peace and tranquility”
For a quiet, restful holiday we found the Mukdara unsurpassable. Being Winter in our native Australia it was great to experience some warm Thai sunshine. As it was off-season, the resort was not busy, which allowed us the opportunity to get to know the staff and the locals, who we found extremely friendly and willing to help at every opportunity. The garden villa was roomy, clean and set amidst beautifully tended gardens only a hop skip and jump from the pool. Thank you all staff for making our stay a very pleasant one.

Mukdara review”
The visitors are on average between 40 and 60 and remarkably mainly from German speaking origin (German / Austrian / Swiss). Although there is nothing wrong with that a little more mixture of different nationalities would be nice. Kao Lak in general seems to have a lot of German natives as visitor. Directly outside the resort there is a street with many restaurants and about 2 km away there is the Kao Lak center with on the main street and on the beach more hotels and a lot of shops and good restaurants. It is recommended to search on the internet on advance and book a room via sites like Agoda when travelling individually.

Quiet relaxation”
It was our first visit to Kaoh Lak. It's a much quieter lifestyle than the more well known areas. Our hotel was very nice, with a beautiful room, large manicured grounds, two huge pools, and miles of virtually empty beaches. The staff was very friendly, a nice breakfast was provided. They have a huge convention facility for meeetings etc., probably the largest in the area. We would likely stay there again.

Great location, beautiful property”
We just arrived back yesterday. Mukdara was a beautiful Thai style property in a fantastic location. The villa's are just beautiful, the gardens are magnificent and the pools a just fabulous. We stayed in green season and they downsized the buffet breakfast but there was still a lot to choose from and the quality was outstanding. I loved this place and will go back. The only down thing was they packed up the deck chairs from around the beachside pool which meant you had to sit in the coconut grove chairs. The pool assistant was kind enough to leave 2 chairs for us around the pool which was great, but not sure why they packed the others up, it just takes a little of the ambiance away from sitting around the pool. Excellent.

A very nice and relaxing location”
Mukdara is a very nice hotel well located. Beeing a big hotel is very quiet with nice pool, garden and sea front. In the garden some outstanding honeymoon villas are located (i was upgraded with limited charge). These villas have private pool, private garden, are surrounded by a wall for absolute discretion. The wall have sliding big doors to open the garden to the beach, this is great !

Excellent Resort, beautifully landscaped garden”
This is one of the best hotels in Khao-Lak, friendly service, beautiful garden, one of the best breakfasts we had in Thailand, nice, clean and modern rooms, free internet which is a rarity in Kao-Lak, nice gym and pools. In short, highly recommended.

Great Location”
Great location - 5min walk to shops and restaurants. Taxi is 150baht for two ppl one way from the main road to Khao Lak central where you'll find more restaurants and a fairly high end supermarket. Lovely villa gardens and pools. Housekeeping and wait staff were fantastic - reception weren't great and restaurant couldn't get our order right. Breakfast was lovely. Take a travel high chair if traveling with little ones as most high chairs in Thailand didn't have straps so bubs stood up straight away. Nappies are available at most of the convenience stores - mostly Thai brands and pull ups are the norm but worked fine. Take some baby safe insect repellent and citronella patches. You can also ask reception for electric mozzie coils -our lovely housekeeper left some for us in our room. Baby food pouches weren't available at all but Tops supermarket sells them if you're coming via Bangkok.

nice hotel and beach - nothing for solo travelers”
enjoyed 5 days at mukdara beach villa & spa hotel in high season (not peak saison) unfortunately we had heavy rain every day and consequently we fought off mosquitos all the time. (pool) bars & restaurant were deserted (because too expensive.

Wonderful hotel and resort”
When I just came to Mukdara I was really surprised. It really hit me. A very welcome staff, all the people very friendly. The room was beautyful and the bathroom perfect. A lot of little details in the room and outside in the garden, so that you can see and feel the beauty of this resort.
