Interesting concept, great value”

grass suites is located in thonglor, an upscale and very interesting neighbourhood - slightly far (approx. 1 km) from the bts station but very easily accessible either via a 1 minute cab ride or a short walk. it is surrounded by great bars, restaurants and nightlife - though most are on the higher end of the bangkok price scale - so much so that there is an entire grass complex with fancy shops, music/wine bars, sushi restaurants etc. literally at your doorstep. the neighbourhood has many japanese expats so the quality of japanese food is very good. the hotel itself is astroturf-themed (hence, "grass"), with the green astroturf covering much of the floors and walls. personally i thought it was a very interesting twist. our rooms were single suites gotten on a great agoda deal, and each was massive: 1 living area with tv, table, kitchen area, washing machine; 1 bedroom with tv dresser, wardrobe, king-sized bed; 2 bathrooms. they also have a small but decent fitness room on the ground floor, wifi in the rooms, many japanese tv channels and staff who can speak japanese.

Fantastic place to stay”

grass suites is wonderful! my husband and i already knew we liked the area of thonglor and he discovered this property a few months ago so we returned last week. when i opened the door to the suite i was flabbergasted at the size. large living room, spacious bedroom and big bathroom (complete with a heated toiled seat appliance), two flat screen tvs, extra bathroom, lots of wardrobe and drawer space, microwave and stove...pretty much all you'd need to move right in. we were in bangkok for three nights and actually looked forward to coming back to the room to relax. the staff were wonderful (they let me use their computer to print out documents i needed) and the property is in a quiet alcove, off a street which is packed with great places to eat, drink and get a foot massage. we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

Great place to stay in Thonglor”

We've often stayed at Grass Suites and, while on a couple of occasions it was not quite up to par, this time it was back to being great again. The room/suite is very comfortable, bed mattress and pillows are fabulous and the location is good since it's only a short moto ride (or 10 minute walk) to the Thonglor BTS. On this occasion we received a comfortable room (in the past they have not all been) but the room next door had a blocked toilet which caused a less than pleasant odour in the passageway and workmen cleaning the room until after 11pm that night, which did not make us happy and caused us to call the front desk twice before they stopped. Nonetheless, our stay here was really comfortable and we would go back again on our next trip to Bangkok.

Awesome hotel room”

It was my first time staying at grass suites and I find the location quite decent apart from bts quite far away and not much shopping can be done. But it's a stone's throw from clubs like funky villa, demo, muse, nunglen and wip. And there's a place for nice brunch place called "Roast" just 5 mins walk opposite the hotel. The staffs in the hotel are all very friendly and helpful. The lift is very small and can fit at most 3-4 adults. They don't provide umbrellas when it's raining so do prepare to get one when you're going during the monsoon season. Housekeeping are prompt and fast too. Overall I'm really happy with my stay at grass suites thonglor. I'll definitely recommend it to anyone who are in bkk to party every night.

self-serve hotel with super location”

rooms are big, stayed in the 1 bedroom suite, has a small living room, dining table for 2, lcd tv and a complete kitchen with microwave. location is superb, down soi 10 is where the nightlife is (grass is in soi 12) abt 5 mins walk brings u to arena ten where there are lots of food and nightlife. across the street on soi 13 is j-avenue area where there are plenty of japanese establishments. beds are hard, so if u dont want hard bed the place is not recommended. no bell boy so u have to carry ur own bags to the room. as i was staying here for business i was happy with the hotel. a ride up and down thonglor (the road grass suite is in) by motor cycle is 20baht, thats to bts and if u dont want to walk around the area.

The only place I'll stay in Thong Lo”

I'm a bit of a regular at Grass Suites, so the staff know me and are extra friendly when my wife and I arrive to check in. They are attentive, responsive and courteous and extremely helpful with all our questions about where to go, what to do, etc. Grass Suites is set off of Sukhumvit 55, tucked away on Soi 12, so it's quiet at night...an oasis of calm in a lively neighborhood packed with great restaurants, bars and things to do and see. Frankly, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bangkok.

Large suite in the middle of bangkok nightlife”

Grass thonglor is in the middle of thonglor, the lively residence area with lots of trendy restaurants, bars n nightclubs. These bars and restaurants are within 5 mins walk. Unfortunately, its about 20mins walk to the nearest train station. The room is large with very simple japanese decoration. However, quality of the material is a bit under expectation. There is the view of city only if you stay on the 6th floor. Good news is that although u book the low floor room which come with lower price, nice staff at the front will automatically upgrade you to the high floor if the room is available.

Always a great place to stay”

I always stay at Grass Suites when coming to Bangkok as I love the Thonglor area for its central location, comfortable atmosphere and wide variety of good restaurants and coffee shops. The rooms are huge and comfortable with large, cozy beds, good wifi, flat screen TVs and large clean bathrooms.

What a pleasant surprise!”

Thong Lor is a great neighbourhood to stay in when visiting Bangkok. There are a slew of good restaurants, supermarkets. It is close to the SkyTrain and, if you prefer something a little more local, the Khlong Saen Saep Express Boat. A big plus is getting to and from the airport by plentiful metered taxis: about twenty to thirty minutes, and at most THB 300 depending on traffic. Agoda had a promotion on The Grass Suites so I took a gamble; it paid off in Aces. I thought I was getting a single room but when I opened the door to my room I discovered a living room, small kitchenette (with sink and full sized 'fridge), a washer & dryer, and a half bath (toilet and sink). There was a sliding door leading outside to a couple of chairs for those who smoke. From the living area another door lead to a large bedroom, a huge bed, and a built in desk for laptops. The bathroom had a short but deep bath tub (perfect for soaking), and the toilet had one of those Japanese heated seats with warm water spritzer. Give me a good book and I could live in that bathroom. It seems this accomodation is geared towards the Japanese businessman (or woman) in town for a short stay, or perhaps longer assignment. The staff was very gracious and accomodating. They seem to speak English and Japanese capably. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. Especially if I can get it on promotion.

Great location”

My overall experience at the grass suits thonglor has been an excellent one. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very well cleaned and maintained. The only down side to the hotel I felt was that the beds were a bit too firm. Other than that a hotel I would recommend.

Great atmosphere ”

Grass Suites Thonglor is located in a convenience location, with a convenience store located across the road and plenty of good outlets, including a few in the same compound. The room is cleaned and spacious. Security is also tight, with lift key assess card and cctv cameras along the common corridor. The lift is also located behind the manned reception counter. A safe is also available in the room.

Budget hotel in Bangkoks hippest location”

Grass Suites is a very average hotel, at a good price, at the epicenter of Bangkok's fine dining and hip nightlife. Bangkoks most exclusive and elusive restaurant — Water Library — practically in the same building, and BKK most famed japanese restaurant, "Mugendai", is on the roof of the hotel. Walk out of the hotel you have on of the coolest bars in the city "Fat Gutz", and a few steps farther its even cooler sister bar "Iron Fairies". Right next, is a simple joint famed for its singapore "Hainanese Chicken Rice", walk a little south, you find my favorite restaurant "Suppaniga Eating Room". So, this humble hotel is located in the absolute best spot of Bangkok. It's true that the rooms lack style and athmosphere. If you want to be right in the middle of the action, it still is a good option.

Always happy at the Grass Suites”

Whenever we come to Bangkok, we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere other than the Grass Suites. Not only is the location fabulous (in the heart of good restaurants, wine bars, spas and walking area), but the room provides everything we love: extremely comfortable beds, great pillows, well-equipped bathroom (love the heated toilet seat!), huge rooms, two flat-screen TVs, in-room coffee maker (my husband's saving grace) and delightful staff.

Comfortable apartments at good location”

Grass Suites offers basic but comfortable apartments just off the busy Thonglor Road. It is well located for many restaurants and some bars and clubs are within walking distance. The BTS is a good 20 minute walk away. The apartment had basic coking facilites but no cookware, it had a washing machine, and a flat screen TV in both lounge and bedroom as well as aircon in both rooms.

Fantastic location and nice neighborhood”

Im very happy at my stay in thonglor,grass suites, the room in huge for the price you are paying. The surrounding is nice . And if ou like fancy restaurants and fancy bars,this is the place to be.

Convenient location with helpful cheerful staff”

Grass suites thong lor is a hotel which provided me with a wonderful opportunity to enjoy my five days of holidays in the bangkoks most vibrant city part to the fullest. Staff was very helpful never sparing a smile which contributed to the overall homelike atmosphere. Its been four days and i cannot wait to book a room for another night this weekend. Thank you very much.

grass thonglor situates in mid-thonglor area, not quite a walking distance from bts. well, you can walk but it takes at least 10-15 mins to do so. but you can easily catch a taxi from bts to the hotel. the location is good, j-avenue which is a community mall in this area is just opposite and you have a lot of options to dine, shop and hang out around. even at in the grass thonglor itself, check out 'mugendai' where you can savour your self with best sushi and tempura in town. the room is clean, comfortable and spacious. price is reasonable. will stay here again.

I had a comfortable stay at Grass Suites Thonglor even though it was only for a night, the hotel is located in a trendy but friendly area of BKK. Within a few minutes walk around the hotel, you could find anything to have a great nightlife experience: Restaurants, bars& cafe, wine bars, pub, supermarkets, spa & massage.... I cheked-in the hotel very late at night! but Mr. Em (the front desk manager) was there to welcome me with a smile and upgraded me to a suite! it was quite a relief after a long and tiring flight!

wow! upgraded to large suite, what an upgrade.”

we got upgraded to a one bedroom suite for no additional charge. wow! it was bigger than our apartment in chonburi. so spacious for only two people. the bed was comfortable. two tvs but the reception/color settings were very weird on the english channels (go figure) and we couldn't seem to get them right. the design of the room was very nice, and having two bathrooms was definitely a plus. there were some outdated items, like the microwave and stove that really didn't flow well with the newness of the room. biggest fail was that they didn't provide any hand soap--staff said they were out, so we had to go out and buy our own. also, the front desk woman wasn't very helpful or very friendly. for some reason, her recommendation for food in the area was mcd's....and if you've ever eaten in thonglor, you know there's so much more. we found that pretty funny. instead we found a great italian place with italian chefs! dpizza and dvino. check it out!

Great service”

Nice area good service. Is my first time to visit grass suite, I never expect in my mind that this hotel can compare to other 4 star hotels as for the pricing . I just pay usd yet I got a 400sq space. And that something very different to 4 and 5 star hotel is....the toilet u never expect. Common you must try... And you will never regret.
