Great location, great room, great rates”
Unlike a couple of the other hotels we attended in the 3 or so weeks leading up to our stay at the Jianguo, the fact that this hotel is situated a little away from the centre of Guangzhou made no appreciable difference to the quality of our stay. In other words, distance in this instance proved both irrelevant and easy to control in that literally the amazingly efficient subway system which is easily entered via the many entrances of the Guangzhou East station and that is literally a 2 minute walk from the Jianguo Hotel, made getting around so easy. We booked a Business Suite for its 65m size but were surprised at how small it felt. It was a case of design rather than false claims as the room was in fact very large with floor to ceiling windows the full length of the front and on one side, it was resplendent with a large desk, free WiFi, couch, table and chairs and a wonderfully comfortable King sized bed with terrific doona and pillows. Perfect for a good night's sleep. Our room was at the front of the building and offered a wonderful outlook. General amenities were of a decent standard, suffice to say the gym although clean and with a permanent attendant, lacked equipment, yet offered niceties including male and female saunas and great change rooms, the pool was nice but out of service at the time, I didn't attend the neat spa / massage facility, whereas my wife and I attended breakfast each morning. I've read comments by others about the food, some good, some average, and I have to say that I am definitely erring on the average side. It definitely lacked western food options. On a parting note and I hate to say I forgot the lady cleaners name, but she was absolutely fantastic doing not only a brilliant job of cleaning the room, but literally running to get the job done quickly. Fantastic! For price, position and general overall quality you would be hard pressed finding much better in Guangzho

very satisfied with our stay in jianguo hotel - buffet breakfast was great, room was clean and bed was comfy. you can easily take a cab outside the hotel and there are travel guides in the room that you can use to get around guangzhou. if you wish to join day tours in guangzhou, you may arrange with the hotel receptionist for details and reservation. very convenient in terms of location, jianguo hotel is also walking distance to guangzhou east railway where you can take a train to shenzhen or hong kong. if you want to do some shopping, ikea is just about 300 meters down the road and jusco department store is across the street. there is a business center for those who need to use the internet and indoor pool to swim. overall, we were happy with our stay in jianguo hotel.

Nice Hotel”
First of all, as already pointed out in another review of this hotel, there are two different hotels in this city with almost similar names. A couple of the reviews for this hotel on these pages are actually for the other hotel. The other hotel is named Jianguo Garden, and is located further down the road, not far from the railway station (actually: one of the railway stations...). Jianguo Hotel (this hotel) is located next to the Silk Market. I spent 9 nights at this hotel in July 2008, and I have no problem recommending it to other travellers. I had booked a suite at the club floor. The "Jianguo Club" has a separate reception and lounge at the fouth floor, and the staff is very helpful. There is a wireless zone here, free use of computers and printer (this is rather expensive if you use their business centre on the ground floor), and each afternoon there are free drinks and small dishes in the lounge. Breakfast is also served in this lounge. The "room" was about 65-70 square meters, on two floors.On the second floor it had a large bedroom with a LCD TV and rather comfortable twin beds, a small sitting area, a small balcony and a bathroom with a tub and a separate shower. On the first floor there was a hallway,bathroom, sitting area with two chairs and a LCD TV (personally I had preferred a sofa) and a nice office corner with broadband internet. There was also a nice balcony, but with hideous plastic chairs(!), overlooking the garden/pond. Separate ac on each floor. I wasn't too fond of the carpets though... I liked the room, even if it looked as it had not been redecorated for the last 5 or 6 years. I got two free newspapers delivered every day (China Daily and Wall Street Journal). There were about 30 free TV-channel available, including CNN, BBC World, HBO, Cinemax, Deutche Welle, MTV and National Geographic Channel. They even had a french and an italian channel.

Great Service/Location 5 Star Hotel”
me and my wife have some business at the us embassy, very lucky that we found jianguo hotel. first, we visited hong kong and on the way back into guangzhou we took the non-stop train from kowloon, hk to guangzhou east train station. (about per) the hotel is within 10 mins walk to east station, and its within 5 mins walk to the us consulate embassy. also there are big shopping mall/7 eleven across the street, and subway to the right at "f2 exit" within 5 mins walk. we have an extra day there so we took subway to the "beijing walkway" $4rmb for one person, we heard there are walk shopping area, there are good stops and restaurants. the room is very nice! swimming pool, massage* at 6th floor ( a person for foot massage and it was great! maybe we got lucky it was a mid-age guy and for my wife it was a young girl. my wife goes spa and massage all the time in beijing, chengdu but she also said she was one of the best) overall, i give this hotel an a because it was very good for us due to location (east station/us embassy) and close to subway. buffet however, it's $268/per for dinner, i think it's a little bit expensive.

Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
Was in Guangzhou to visit an exhibition and stayed at Jianguo after reading positive reviews from fellow travellers. It did not disappoint. The location is excellent, within a stone throw from Guangzhou East train station and the #1 and #3 subway lines. It takes only about 40 mins (7RMB) to travel from the airport to the hotel and 20 mins (4 RMB) to Pazhou Complex via subway. Travelling to nearby cities Dongguan and Shenzhen is also a breeze via high speed train from Guangzhou east station. Room is nice and clean (TV still the Box type though). Overall a nice 4.5 star hotel.

jianguo hotel is a 5 star hotel located near guangzhou east railway station. it is only a few min walk from tianhe plaza where you can find banks, restaurants, clothing shops and other businesses. right across the street, there is another nice plaza where you can eat and shop.

Great location, new, clean and reasonably priced”
i sometimes try new hotels in guangzhou but i usually come back to the jianguo. the location to the guangzhou east train station is perfect if you are traveling to/from shenzhen or hong kong. its 15 minutes or less even in heavy traffic to all of the new pearl city/new cbd district where most companies have moved. there is plenty of shopping, restaurants and convenience stores across the street under the bus station in front of the train station. the rooms are always clean and nice, well furnished, with a business desk and free internet! i noticed they even have upgraded to free in-room wifi!

Nice clean and cost effective”
JianGuo hotel is high rated for good reason. Its got a great location right next to the guangzhou east railway station and walking distance to shops, restaurants and such. Service was quick and efficient and the rooms were nice, clean and tidy. The spa on level 6 is also quite good if you want a nice relaxing massage. Will definitely consider staying here again!

Excellent hotel”
Jianguo Hotel is located in Tinhe which is North-East in Guangzhou. We paid 117$/night breakfast included. This is a 5 stars price for a 5 stars hotel. Pros: Good location closed to the metro station that brings you directly to or from the airport for 14 Yuans/person and in front of the train station that brings directly you to or from Hong Kong. Very comfortable room and bathroom, great breakfast: they offer every kind of food, excellent service. Free Internet with cable in the room or WiFi every where else in the hotel.

Great hotel and very convenient location”
We loved our stay at the Jianguo Hotel Guangzhou. It is located right across the street from the East Train Station and we were surprised to find such a nice hotel in that location at such a reasonable price. The staff spoke good English and were very helpful. The room was large, the beds very comfortable, the wifi worked great, and everything was clean and in good shape. We will definitely stay there again and we highly recommend this hotel.

Nice, modern hotel in central location”
We have spent a weekend at the Jianguo Hotel, which is close to the train station east when arriving in Guangzhou with the train fron Hong Kong. Nice pool to cool off. Very relaxing spa with nice massage. Staff speaks english and everyone is very friendly. There is a metro station in close location so that you can use the underground. There are some coffee shops near by with asmall shopping centre, so everything is available in close distance. Very clear room and modern interior. I would recommend for a stay in Guangzhou.

Convenient, good service, great breakast”
i chose this hotel as it was close to the guangzhou east railway station and i was wanting to make a day trip out to hong kong. the staff were always friendly and helpful. not all room staff speak english but they would always make an effort, as i can also speak chinese there were no communication issues. consierge were very helpful when asking directions to different tourist places. i think this has to be the best breakfast buffet i have had in china, it had an excellent selection of both western and asian foods. there is a starbucks and pizza hut across the road from the hotel. there was good wifi signal in the room so didn't need to plug my laptop in to use the internet. my room was on the 22nd floor at the back of the hotel where construction is going on. i was surprised to find that it was still quite quiet. a few times during the day i would hear construction noise but it never lasted long and i never heard it at night. the rooms were clean and spacious and i was surprised to find i was served cookies every night when they turned my bed down. would recomend this hotel and would stay here again.

i probably stayed this hotel more then 10 times. but never wrote a review.. but i think thats not fair when i like the hotel so much. 1st time it was at 2007 and then on.. when ever i go to guangzhou, i stay there.. its not a big hotel. but very convenient location, modern design. nice helpful staff. and the added bonus is the gunangzhou east railway station is practically walking distance, but sometimes with heavy luggage's its difficult to walk there and there comes the concierge who arrange hotel bus to give you a free drop at the station just for the luggage. other is the ikea store and the huge open park in-front of teh hotel. great hotel.

Excellent Choice In Guangzhou”
This hotel is a great choice if going to Guangzhou and especially if you are entering or exiting Guangzho through the excellent train system. The hotel is a block away from the East Guangzho train station yet you never hear trains or feel like you are staying near a station. The station also has access to the metro system which is ideal for touring Guangzhou. The metro will also take you directly to the South railway station where you can get China's excellent bullet trains. I reached Yangshou in 2.5 hours and Yangshou is a must for tourists. The hotel has a massive breakfast buffet that is sure to please all tastes. Rooms are clean and in good shape and the beds are very comfortable. Wifi was very good and TV offered English channels. This place is an excellent choice.

I always go back to the Jianguo Hotel”
I visit Guangzhou every 1 or 2 months. After trying many hotels, now I always stay here. I'm a business traveler and I like comfort but don't like to waste money on hotels for services and luxury (and a brand name) I don't need. This hotel has great rooms for the price. Great location next to the Guangzhou East train station and there is a subway station there too. This is extremely convenient if you need to travel by train between Shenzhen and Guangzhou. Plenty of local and western (mostly fast food) options at the mall across the street or the train station. McDonalds, Burger King and KFC in the train station just 3 minutes walk. Across the street and to the left is a Starbucks and Pizza Hut (walk past the 7-11 you can see from the front door and turn left). Most of the staff speak English. The only draw back of this hotel is that it can sometimes take awhile to get a taxi because of the proximity to the train station and sometimes heading back to the hotel taxis might not want to go because of the traffic congestion.

Great location & comfortable room”
Jianguo hotel is located right next to Guangzhou East train station & metro station, perfect for travellers when we arrived late 10ish at night. The lobby may look a bit old, yet the rooms are maintained at very good condition, stylish and comfortable. The staff are very efficient and helpful in providing suggestions to travellers, though their English level may not be as fluent as Mandarin/Cantonese. Tasty breakfast buffet, especially the Chinese dishes ('dim sum') variety which are not common in 5-star hotels. Highly recommended for both business and family travellers.

Great hotel and very convenient location”
We have stayed 3 times at the Jianguo Hotel in Guangzhou and love it. It is located right across from the Guangzhou East Train Station which makes it very convenient for when we travel on the Through Train from Hong Kong. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. The restaurant serves excellent cuisine, including a nightly buffet with a sumptuous selection of food.

A good hotel at the gate of Guangzhou”
i am happy with the stay in jianguo hotel in spring 2010. the location is convenient. it is just two minute walk from the guangzhou east train station, large shopping mall and ikea. the catering is good. i am offered a packed breakfast i have to leave hotel before the canteen is open. the service is good, but can be improved. the bell boy ringed non-stop at 3pm to bring a plate of cookies, despite we are reluctant to answer the door.

I Really like staying at the Jianguo Hotel”
Jianguo is located right next to the Guangzhou East Railway Station so you can catch the subway straight to the hotel from the international airport .. you also have easy access to the fast and through trains to Shenzhen and Hong Kong .. the pool is sunny in the morning and they have a good breakfast
